After my retirement from the Bank’s services which took place on 31 st. October 2009, I have been

I was on deputation from SBI and heading Audit and Inspection Department of Vananchal
Gramin Bank covering 186 branches of the Bank. conducting regular audit at District Head
quarter Branches, compliances / closure of Regular audit and snap audit reports of branches, Co-
ordinating compliance of Management audit/NABARD audit reports. . Guiding 5 (five) auditors

I headed Agriculture Banking Division of the branch independently for its profitability,
inspection rating, reduction in NPAs and budgetary achievement with regard to
Agriculture financing as per Bank’s scheme and Government’s scheme. I got two
Tractors seized twice by dint of my close monitoring and effective liaison with the
Deputy Commissioner Chatra without instituting any certificate case, which was a dare-
devil task at Chatra, considered as a very sensitive belt in Jharkhand. As a result, two
Tractor accounts,which were basically sub-standard and likely to slip down to Bad and
Doubtful assets, were upgraded to Standard assets as on 31-3-1998. As such, the
uncharged interest component from November 1994 to November 1997 aggregating
Rs.160400/- only was recovered solely from these two borrowal accounts for contributing
to profit of the branch as on 31-3-1998. I had also successfully generated 34 compromise
proposals in Agriculture segment and by organizing four recovery cum compromise
settlement camps meticulously from November 1997 to January 1998 at the branch itself,
I was able to secure a cash recovery of Rs.225411/50 only in NPAs. I got Appreciation
Letter from DGM Ranchi Module for my commendable work in NPA management .

I did Business development by aggressive marketing efforts and by means of liaison with
clientele and senior Government officials. I also did innovative developmental work for
the branch by getting the Branch building / premises repaired, whitewashed and duly
distempered fully at the cost of CCL besides getting approval for extension of the branch
for construction of a new spacious branch hall to fetch more business for which no
previous Branch Manager thereat had even thought and tried. I had officially met the top
Management of CCL, such as Director(Finance) etc and successfully convinced them to
take action including stoppage of salary against their wilful defaulter- employees, who
had consumer loan dues. I left no stone unturned in my sincere endeavour to ensure that
Barkakana branch was rated as “well-run” by the Central Office Audit and Inspection
Official in his report dated 4th. March 1995, which was a magnificent success over
previous two Fairly well-run ratings.

branches for the perusal and necessary action of the Local Board at Bank’s Head Office.
