Professional Experience and Achievements:
AAR Precision Systems (October 2010 through April 2011)
Production Supervisor - Sole first shift operational responsibility for a
50,000 sf manufacturing facility with 55 production workers and 14 active
programs. Industry focused on production of subcontracted advanced
composite aircraft components with commercial and DoD applications.
Processes include prepreg lay-up, RTM, VARTM, oven/autoclave cure, 3 and 5
axis CNC or manual trim, and mechanical or bonded assembly. Processes
include prepreg lay-up, RTM, VARTM, oven/autoclave cure, 3 and 5 axis CNC
or manual trim, and mechanical or bonded assembly. Efforts resulted in
increased production rates, creation of work cells in assembly area, and
reorganization of the shop floor to segregate carbon component machining
and to increase overall efficiency.
PRIDE Enterprises (August 1995 through June 2009)
Industry (Plant) Manager (November 2005 through June 2009) - Complete
operational and financial responsibility for a 34,000 sf manufacturing
facility comprising various CNC and manually operated machinery, three
supervisors, and 50 production workers. Industry focused on design,
development, prototype, production, delivery, installation, and support of
commercial office furniture, institutional furniture, OEM/Private Label
furniture, and special products for various markets.
Requested by upper management to accept position in order to correct
substantial financial, backlog, quality, and organizational issues. In
addition, due to staffing cut backs, the Industry Manager position actually
required a continuation of previously held positions: Manager of Product
Engineering (March 1998 through November 2005) and Product Manager (August
1995 through March 1998). Collectively, in addition to developing many of
the skills and abilities listed above, activities resulted in:
. 50% reduction in industry operating expenses
. Substantial improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction
. Redesign of a systems furniture product line
. Development and introduction of eight new casegood lines
. Development and introduction of three new seating lines and eight
individual seating products
. Developed and produced more than 10,000 rotationally molded
Playstation (ticket kiosks) for the Florida Lottery (PRIDE President
and CEO Award)
. Design and manufacture of well over 1,000 custom designed products,
including items for OEM/Private Label customers.
Grumman Aerospace Corporation (February 1974 through June 1993)
Manager of Operations - Business Development (February 1980 through June
1993) - Managed the pursuit of aerospace subcontracts from fellow aerospace

Proposal activities, and related IR&D activities. Aside from the overall
management of such activities, personal responsibilities included:
. Created and Chaired Screening Committee and Bid Board (Bid/No Bid
decisions, personnel assignments, budget creation and control,
scheduling, and an 80% win rate)
. Proposal Director and/or Proposal Volume Manager on numerous B&P
activities, which involved up to 100 team members from across the
company (often requested to personally support other divisions in this
capacity)
. Program or Project Manager on such activities as Seawolf subassembly,
F-22 EB welded titanium aft fuselage R&D, ESA Hermes Trainer Aircraft
Feasibility Study, and Magna-Formed Flight Control Drive Shaft
development hardware (all efforts completed on time and within budget)
. TQM Action Team Leader in the development of a Management Information
System (resulted in first MIS hardware/software specification for the
SBU)
. Sole Grumman Representative to Singapore and Indonesia in satisfaction
of technology transfer (advanced composite) offset credits related to
prime aircraft sales.
Overall efforts resulted in $400M in annual sales and a $1B backlog.
R&D Project Engineer (July 1978 through February 1980) - Served as the
technical lead on a USAF R&D project to evaluate the impact of
electromagnetic hazards and threats to advanced composite aircraft
structures. Hazards and threats included high energy lasers,
