Title: Project on Carbon Nano Tube

Synopsis: The carbon nanotube (CNT) is a self-

assembled carbon structure with a

diameter of about 1-3 nm (1nm =1 billionth of a

meter) and hundreds to

thousands of nanometer long.

The project demonstrates the possibility of

spontaneous intracellular

generation of reactive oxygen species in intact

cells, when inhaled the

carbon radical readily activates aerial oxygen to

superoxide radical. These

are shown to possess defective carbon nanotube

particulates containing

very stable carbon centered free radical.
