SELECTED TESTIMONIALS

“Kelly is really the reason why this project got off the ground. In the program’s first incarnation ( Chicas in Charge), it was

difficult to devote the time and resources to recruit and market sessions. But Kelly has done most of the legwork – marketing,

recruitment, lesson plans– we wouldn’t have this project without her.”

Marlene Cabrera, Co-County Wellness Services- Temple University Press

“Kelly was all about going back to the community to help. She actually interviewed the public health officials in her community

that she knows about and lives in. It is a place where she grew up, and because she knew the area, I think that was one of the

reasons why she succeeded in putting the [ Chicas in Charge] project together. Her life was affected by teen pregnancy and how

it affects her community. She is going to be a perfect public health official.”

Dr. Sylvia Twersky-Bumgardner, Temple University-Diverse Issues in Higher Education (Best & Brightest)

“I wanted to let you know how impressed Kim Slate and I were with Kelly’s presentation (on SPSS) today. She was very

knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that was easy to understand and the right amount for a first time hearing

it. Thank you, Debra”.

Debra Stavarski, Reading Hospital & Medical Center
