WORK AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Sep 2005 – Mar 2006 University of Central Florida Orlando, FL

Research Adjunct – Engineering Project by JEA (Jacksonville Electric Authority)

“Effects of Variation of Equivalence Ratio on Nitrogen Oxides and Sulfuric Oxides from Coal

and Petroleum Coke Combustion in Industrial Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Combustor”

Performed a numerical analysis of air pollutant emissions from coal and petroleum

combustion in CFB combustor of power generating station.

Studied chemical kinetics and thermodynamics in order to predict and reduce emission

of nitrogen oxides and sulfuric oxides (SO2 removal method with lime) from CFB combustor

of power generating station.

The project was performed in order to help to design and develop computer-based

control program which estimates prospective combustion product (pollutant) at a certain

operating condition.

1

2003 - Aug 2005 University of Central Florida Orlando, FL

Research Assistant – Combustion Laboratory

“Effects of Transport Properties and Flame Unsteadiness on Nitrogen Oxides Emissions from

Laminar Hydrogen Jet Diffusion Flames”

Researched a behavior and a relationship of flame lengths, flame temperatures and NO x

emission levels for hydrogen-argon and hydrogen-helium diluted flames with effects of

variation of dilution, transport properties and thermodynamic properties.

The analysis also involved velocity fluctuation in unsteady flow field obtained by LDV

(Laser Doppler Velocimetry) technique to study a behavior of NOx emission in terms of

unsteady fluid dynamics.

Assisted other colleagues in the combustion laboratory with various research projects and

experiments.

Computer Professional Programmer Trainee

Studied C/C++, JAVA, data base, software engineering, client program development for

intra-network and data-processing system.

1997 - 2000 Kyoung-Il University South Korea

Research Assistant

1. Studied flows through venturi meter, triangular weir, rectangular weir and orifice for

various circumstances.

1996 - 1997 Aehwal Automobile Technician Institute South Korea

Junior Mechanical Engineer

Studied mechanism and structure of power train, transmission, brake, suspension and

steering systems.
