Work history
Damage Controlman USCG East Moriches NY
• I was responsible for the repair or manufacturing of many devices and assets on long island.
Sometimes boats were down due to cracks in the hull or metal devices onboard. It was my job to
make sure these items are repaired properly, effectively, and on time.
• Some of the projects I was involved with were not as easy as just reattaching or clad welding.
Sometimes I had to recreate complex objects from scratch.
• During my four and a half years as a welder in the coast guard, I consistently completed projects
ahead of schedule and saved the government over five hundred thousand dollars in contractor costs.
• My greatest accomplishment to date would be designing and building a cradle for a thirty foot boat.
This boat cradle was built entirely of aluminum with train wheels and axles. It rode on train track in
and out of a large boat cradle, pulled by a winch. I was able to build this project completely while
spending only ten thousand dollars on materials.
