Jan/2009 – June/2011

US ARMY - Fort Hood, Texas

Chaplain/Counselor/Supervisor/Leader

Counseled, mentored, supervised, led by example. Implemented rules and regulations that needed to be followed in

order to stay focused on the mission ahead. Provided training to Soldiers and Civilians alike on how to take precaution

and safety being a priority. Taught Suicide Prevention Classes and conflict resolutions. Advised the Commander on

matters of Religion, moral and morale. Conducted Pastoral care and counseling to both Soldiers and their Families.

Conducted Worship Services, Administered sacrament rites. Ensured that there was freedom of exercising ones religion

regardless of faith and background and within guidelines. Supervised one Chaplain Assistant. Supported 2 other units in

matters of moral, morale and Religious matters. Did grief counseling, buried the dead and honored the living. Provided

Counseling to Soldiers and Families who are struggling in their Marriages. Helps those struggling with raising Strong

Willed Children. Taught Parenting Classes, Marriage Classes, Couples relations and Communication skills amongst

couples as well as with their Children be they toddlers, pre-teens, teens or young adults and to Single Soldiers. Gave

moral support and guidance to the grieving Soldiers and their Families affected by the Nov. 5th 2009 Shooting.

Results: Unit Cohesion was the end results. Communication improved across ranks and the unit changed for the

better. Everyone became a team prayer.

June/2006 – Dec/2008

Chaplain Resource Manager

Seasoned, Trained and Polished Resource Manger. Had extensive experience in dealing with budget and meeting

deadlines. Managed 30 Chapels and was in charge of almost $2,000.000. Allocated how the funds were going to be

spent. Both for Chapel programs and payment of the workers. Supervised and managed 7 Credit Card holders, 2 office

personnel, 1 secretary and 2 assistances. Established a working document as a guide for all called the Standard

Operating Procedure for requesting and processing of funds.

Was the Billing Official for the Appropriated Funds (AF) and was a Supervisor in this position as well. Had the ability to

develop and implement finance requests as they came in. Respected leader I was that build a highly motivated

management team focused on achieving goals. Served 5 Garrisons as their Resource Manager and managed and

supervised almost $2,000.000. Used Quick Books software and then went back to the new Pilot Testing and back to

Quick books. Analyzed, monitored and supervised, processed and authorized the distribution of funds coming out of

the budgeting office. Taught all account holders on how to request for funds in a timely manner. Taught them on how to

focus a year out and project what they needed for the next fiscal year. Formulated a Commanders Master Religious

Plan, which upon approval became the Commanders Master Religious Programs (CMRP). Put policies and procedures

in place to ensure the budget office did everything that was lawful and in order. Was in charge of the Spiritual care and

program of the Soldiers and civilians in this garrison.

Results: A well trained staff and at the end of the fiscal year we had 0 (zero) balances. Had no issues when the office

got audited.

July/ 2005 – June/2006

412 Aviation Support

Dealt with daily issues of Soldiers and Family members’ misunderstandings, fights and arguments. Held counseling

classes, Couples retreat, Singles Retreat, Single Parenting Retreats. Did on call chaplain duties that lasted a week at a

time. Took 50 Couples from Germany to Venice, Italy, and had a couples retreats then. Held Pre-deployment trainings

for Soldiers that deployed and held Post-deployment trainings upon the Soldier’s return. Handled a lot of Post

Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) that were all deployment to and from Iraq and Afghanistan related. Was a liaison

between my unit and the German Soldiers that worked hand in hand with us. Provided ministry of Presence to all

Soldiers regardless of their background or history.

Results: Broken relationships were mended, couples apologized to each other as a result of what they learnt from the

retreat. PTSD is still ongoing. Some of the Soldiers are still receiving treatment while others have it more under control.

Some got hospitalized and requesting to have me by their side. Overall the unit became one big happy family.

March/2004 – March/2005

Deployed to Iraq

Established rules and regulations to govern us while in Iraq. Managed Pastoral Care Service with 1400 Soldiers

distributed in 5 different camps. Established a work schedule that guided us, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in terms of

spiritual training and meeting the needs of all Soldiers and Civilians deployed. Cared for the injured and wounded alike

by providing Ministry of Presence in a complex society. Served as a subject matter expert when it came to translations

and the Iraqis needs and services. Supervised staff Chaplain and chaplain assistances regardless of their faith

background. Provided ministry of Presence and worship services to the Embassy staff situated in Iraq. Dealt with

death and dying and the injured in Iraqis. Held different Critical Incident Stress Debrief (CISD) related to the Soldiers

that we lost in Combat. Held Memorial Ceremonies to all that left us due to unexpected deaths. Wrote letters of

condolences to family members whose loved one died in combat.

Results

Had a big tight strong community even when at war. Soldiers supported each other and counted on each other both in

good time and in not so good times. Tight brotherly and sisterly bonds were created that remains today.

Forward Support Battalion Chaplain

Met the needs of the Soldiers regardless of their circumstances. Went to chaplain basic school. Handed over 1400

Soldiers to train and deploy with. Taught communication skills, verbal skills and Suicide Prevention classes. Did

Marriage counseling at times with children, couples counseling with no children allowed. Advised the Commander on

the Spirit of the unit, it moral and morale. Held Spiritual training classes and Bible studies that were very well attended.

Results: Had marriage vows renewed and communication got better amongst the couples. Word spread out and held

a couple more retreats with great success.

St. Christopher Episcopal Church – Fort Hood, Texas

Assistant Priest /Supply Priest

Assisted in Church Worship Services both midweek and Sunday Services. Invited to Preach in Churches that did not

have Pastors in them. Led the youth of the Church and met with them weekly for Bible studies and an open forum of

anything they might have wanted to talk about. Mentored, coached and supervised 2 Church workers and 8 Volunteers.

Results

Parishioners without Priests Spiritual needs were met. The Youth felt that they were part of the congregation as they

were participants in Worship.

MC Arthur High School – Lawton, Oklahoma

Counseled Students in reference to their class schedules, behavior modification and guidance in following rules and

regulations as set by the school district. Gave guidance to the principal and teachers in reference to the students that

were struggling academically and to the students that were having a difficult time at home and the effect it had in their

school performers. Gave guidance for the school curriculum to be geared to students based on their level of capability.

Lifted the morals of the students that felt that they had no hope of graduating. Supervised these challenged students to

make sure they reached their potential.

Results

All the students graduated and those who were struggling more than others received help needed to reach their

potential and graduated.
