05/2005 - Present Department functions, including:
- Supervising nine direct report and ten indirect report
staff members to maintain compliance with all applicable
local, state, and federal SHE&S regulations and training
requirements;
Planning and successfully overseeing a $3,000,000-plus annual
departmental budget;
Directing the SH&E Department support for four Energy
Services Division satellite plants;
Providing weekly briefings to plant and corporate management
on SH&E topics affecting the plant;
Developing and writing SHE&S policies or procedures and
reviewing those written by departmental staff members;
Participating in internal audits at other Nalco plants, as a

Maintaining relations with the public by serving as a
management representative on the plant's Community Advisory
Panel (CAP) and when attending public functions;
Serving as the plant's Public Information Officer in the
event of an emergency;
Maintaining the Sugar Land Plant's Voluntary Protection
Program "Star" status;
Attending Fort Bend County Local Emergency Planning
Committee, Texas Chemical Council, Air & Waste Management
Association, Department of Homeland Security, and American
Society of Safety Engineers meetings to stay current on

Completed environmental engineering functions relating to air
emissions at four Nalco plants, including:
- Negotiating air permitting issues with state environmental
agencies in Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and Louisiana;
- Submitting compliance reports to state environmental
agencies;
- Reviewing new products and raw materials prior to
introduction for air permit compliance;
- Completing New Source Review (NSR) permitting;
- Calculating chemical emissions with Tanks 4.09, Water 9,
and Excel computer software for permitting and emissions
inventories; and
- Maintaining Title V Operating Permit compliance at the
Sugar Land plant.
Developed the Sugar Land Plant SARA 312 (Tier II) and SARA
313 (Toxic Release Inventory) reports, including:
- Calculating chemical amounts released through wastewater
discharges;
- Calculating chemical amounts shipped to off-site hazardous
waste disposal companies; and
- Presenting information from these reports to the plant's
CAP.
Represented the plant at Texas Chemical Council - Air
