Selected Achievements:
> Created customized and comprehensive competency-based training programs.
Brought multiple process industries into compliance with governmental
regulatory agencies, e.g., OSHA, GMP, DOT, USAF, by designing and
implementing comprehensive, competency-based training programs with
verifiable knowledge and performance measures (refineries, chemical
companies, food companies, and upstream facilities).
> Instituted management and professional skills training, with standards
and benchmarks, for Athens, TN city executives, as well as many of my own
colleagues and staff. Managed many projects and people. Reported skills
were acquired and functioning improved.
> Increased communication between management and workers using safety
culture inventory results and my recommendations. Improved the safety
culture of a refinery with safety concerns, near misses, and disgruntled
worker attitudes, damaged equipment, down time, etc. Work groups felt
empowered which improved the moral and productivity. Resolved union and
management conflicts through logical interventions
> Designed comprehensive selection, training, and performance programs for
DuPont, in Spain. This was for a new plant with a new process which had
never been commercialized, experiencing some engineering opposition, in
Castilian Spanish. Trained, coached, led team building, and supervised
the Spanish training organization CFNT that assisted in material
development and translation, and promoted cohesion between the CFNT staff
and the engineers resulting in mutual respect and ownership.
