1984-1987

Responsibilities included working Child Health Clinics, Family Planning

Clinics and STD Clinics. Routine blood work, urinalysis and cultures were

performed in all clinics. Environmental testing was performed on water

samples from new homes and pools as well as food samples from various

restaurants. Milk testing was also done on random samples brought in from

dairy farmers and grocery stores. Phlebotomy was performed for various

occupations and for paternity testing. Travel was involved to various

outlying clinics to facilitate child health and family planning clinics and

any necessary lab work.

Worked in Blood Grouping/Typing where blood work was done on all prenatal

patients seen in county health departments throughout state of North

Carolina to determine blood group and type as well as identification of

abnormal antibodies.

Worked in Hemoglobinopathy Lab which screened all newborn babies in state

of North Carolina for sickle cell, thalassemia or any other

hemoglobinopathy using electrophoresis.

of contact for visitors in front office, responsible for all announcements,

handling ingoing and outgoing mail and courier, distribution of information

to students and their families, helping data manager with registration of

incoming students, communicating with Transportation daily regarding bus

changes or new students needing bus service, all copying necessary for

Principal and Assistant Principal, routing of discipline reports coming

into office to appropriate individuals, checking students into and out of

school, recording tardy students, setting up and maintaining class

rotations for new school year for flag rotation, pledge and recycling,

setting up new student locators for each child in front office, and other

tasks as needed. Multitasking is of utmost importance in this position.
