Work History
Claude Nix Construction 2010-Present
Foreman tunneling ABM TBM
At Claude Nix Construction we specialize in tunneling. From 24" up to 90",
Claude Nix is the largest and most respected company in Utah in the
business. Working with DOT to Kennocott. I started as an equipment
operator then quickly moved to Foreman. Managing crews through out Utah
and surrounding states.
Hunt Electric 2003-2008
Project Manager Infrastructure Division (Heavy Equipment)
Working with Hunt electric has been a great experience. In three years my
department has grown 125%. My duties included bids, coordinating, and
delivering a finished product to the customer. I enjoy a fast pace work
that offers great rewards for high profits jobs. But also knowing the
customer comes first and will be happy and calling back for more jobs. I
also have enjoyed training new employees and getting large groups to work
together such as on I-15 Ogden with the Department of Transportation,
Empire pass, the woods of parley's lane, and more. Specializing in
underground utilities.
Wimco General Contractor 2000-2003
Form setter/Forman/Safety Manager/Superintendent
While working for North Carolinas largest General Contractor. I started
as a foreman on a $20,000,000.00 New Elementary school. After this job I
was moved to Raleigh NC to work in the fast paste, busy schedule for
Grocery store remodel projects. Working directly with Food Lyon Engineers
for floor lay out. I quickly moved up to one of their busiest
Superintendents. I would work on two Stores at once on a 24 hr per day 7
days a week work schedule. The stores were left open to the public so
Safety was a huge concern for the public I learned OSHA 1926 quickly and
the importance of keeping a clean safe work site. I left Wimco to move
back to Utah to be closer to my children. Wimco is great company with
great leaders that fined tuned my leadership skills.
Dome Technology 1991-2000
Form setter/Forman/superintendent/safety manager
Dome specializes in underground tunnels and the Worlds largest Monolithic
domes.
I started as a labor in the winter 1991 going out to Big Rapids, Michigan.
While working with gang forms and Simon panels, being used for underground
tunnels. The company had just got their first tunnel job when I came on
board. They specialized in wet shot Crete mix. Experimenting one day I
talked the company into spraying the tunnels we were constructing. To day
all the tunnels our shot Crete sprayed saving thousands in labor cost
associated in the forming process. Shot Crete in my opinion is the only
way to go in allot of circumstances. I was certified by the State of
Washington in the city of Seattle. Seattle has the most difficult
standards that every state in the US recognizes in the business of wet shot
Crete. With in 5 Years I had traveled to every major US city and Most of
Europe including United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, and
Bangladesh. As well as becoming Superintendent in Saudi Arabia after 9
Years I had had enough travel. When Things slowed down in 2000 I made my
move to Wimco.
