PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Heat Exchanger for Solar Water Heater (Mar - June 2011)
- Group of six people to build and take measurements of an air-to-liquid
heat exchanger to compare with a conventional liquid-to-liquid heat
exchanger.
- Designed the outer shell of the heat exchanger using SolidWORKS and the
installation of the shell to the heat exchanger.
- Project was a success where the air-to-air heat exchanger provided a
heat transfer coefficient that was 60% higher than the expected value.
The Human Powered Rock Crusher (Jan - Mar 2011)
- A five person team to design a rock crusher that would be put to use in
Uganda to reduce a rock from the size of soccer ball to a ping-pong ball.
- Designed the spring subassembly and assisted group members with
SolidWORKS modeling.
- Edited final SolidWORKS model and conducted FEA on relevant components.
Planned group meeting times and delegated various tasks to group members.
Solid Modeling of "Toy Story" LEGO Truck (Jan - Mar 2011)
- Group of three to replicate a LEGO truck consisting of 160 individual
parts that had to be measured and made using SolidWORKS.
- Developed dimensioned drawings of relevant parts with GD&T specified.
Personally created the final assembly of the truck.
Planetary Helical Gear Speed Reducer (Sept - Dec 2010)
- Calculated the specifications for planet in order to achieve a speed
reduction of 7:1 using MATLAB.
- Performed FEA on gears and arm. Proportioned workload amongst members and
planned meeting times. Received an A for project.
EXPERIENCE
SAMSUNG PARTS, Carson, CA
Warehouse Coordinator Intern (Jun - Sept 2010)
- Answered calls and addressed customers with needs arising from technical
difficulties to locating parts that were malfunctioning.
- Took new orders and managed the process of shipping and labeling to
customers.
- Handled returned packages and managed inventories within warehouse.
