Professional Experience
2000/2011 Cisco System Inc./Navini Networks, Richardson TX
RF Design Engineer IV (2008-2011)
Designed and developed RF transceiver circuits for WiFi Access
Points (APs) for enterprise market. Include 5GHz 802.11a/n 2x3
mimo outdoor AP and 2.4GHz/5GHz 802.11a/b/g/n 2x2 mimo indoor
AP. Outdoor version AP based on the Marvell WiFi chips and
indoor version based on Atheros WiFi chips.
Designed and developed RF transceiver circuits for 802.16e WiMax
8x8 mimo base station (BTS), for frequency bands of 2.3GHz WCS
band, 2.5-2.6GHz BRS (used MMDS) band and 3.4-3.6 WLL band.
Responsible for the design of RF and analog circuits include
baseband circuits, RF match circuits, drive amplifier, PA, LNA,
diplexer and RF filter.
Responsible for RF system cascade analysis, components
evaluation, schematic capture, PCB layout with Cadence tools,
RF circuits turning, engineering prototype evaluation.
Responsible for engineer design verification test (DVT) and
system test. Defined the RF circuits design spec. Created test
plan follow the design spec. Building the automatic test
platform with Agilent equipment and Labview software. Tested on
both RF sub-circuits and whole system. Found design problems and
solved problems.
Strong knowledge on CAD software such, ADS, Genesys, Matlab and
Labview. Using ADS and Genesys in RF design. Modified labview
code for testing program.
Strong experience on WiFi AP software control and testing.
Strong Experience on using RF equipment such as network
analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter, signal generator,
oscilloscope. Also on some special test box like Agilent WiFi
test set N4010 and N8300. Litepoint test set IQnxn and IQmax.
Lead RF Design Engineer - CPE (2000-2007 Old Navini, Acquired by
Cisco)
Designed and developed RF and analog circuits for wireless broadband
modems for use in Navini TD-SCDMA or Mobile WiMax system. These
modems included several version of desk top CPE and PCMCIA card
form factor. The frequency bands of operation of these modems
are 2.3GHz WCS band, 2.4GHz ISM band, 2.5-2.7GHz BRS (old MMDS)
band, 3.4-3.6GHz WLL band, and some special frequency bands such
as 1.8GHz, 2.01GHz.
