Dear Mercy Ministries,
Ever since I participated in the Run for Mercy this past summer I have
been very interested in your organization and all you do to help young
women. As an event planner I loved attending the run to show support
for the women you care for. I strive to grow in my profession and
learn different ways to promote events and causes for the
organizations I've worked with but recently I have felt a void in my
professional life and sense I'm being called out of the secular world
to use my gifts and abilities to help further God's kingdom.
Since graduating from the University of the Pacific I have had the
opportunity to work in two very unique and stimulating roles. I have
gained insight and wisdom for coordinating events and staff, while
setting department goals and implementing current industry marketing
resources. In particular, in my current position at Rural Community
Assistance Corporation (RCAC) I am tasked with reviewing all post-
event comments and feedback. By recording and utilizing this
information I am able to modify and adjust the means and methods the
department uses to reach out to small and disadvantaged communities. I
have seen the benefits in using social media and outlets to reach
target audiences and promote interest in your company or product.
Since moving to the Roseville area I have enjoyed planting roots in a
local church and am constantly looking for opportunities to serve the
church body. It is my hope that through a position at Mercy
Ministries I would be able to utilize my experience and expertise in
events, customer relations and ability to think outside the box to
benefit the organization as a whole. I believe I can make a positive
contribution to Mercy Ministries and I look forward to discussing my
capabilities in more detail. I am available for a personal interview
at your earliest convenience and may be reached at the telephone
number or email address provided above.
Thank you for your consideration.

My Personal Testimony
Throughout my life I have felt God's presence to be a leader, I feel
drawn to be a source of strength and confidence for the groups I've
associated with, my friendships and for those I don't know. I have been a
believer since I was very young. I was blessed with a Christian family and
was raised up in a church body that mentored me and loved me very much.
Throughout my adolescence I was a student leader in my youth group, led my
senior girls Bible study and went on a few missions trips. I am very
fortunate to have been able to know God since at an early age. I have had
my share of doubts and struggles in finding out who I am, what I am good at
and where I belong but have always know God had a large calling in my life
has remained true no matter where I go.
This was made most concrete while I was in college. I had left home
heartbroken from a high school romance and desperate to find who I was. I
slowly slid into partying, testing boundaries and questioning my faith. I
joined a sorority and started to get involved with the life that goes with
it but quickly lost interest and started to search for meaningful
relationships. Fortunately we have a God who takes such good care of us! I
soon befriended another fellow greek student who was a believer but known
mostly for not sleeping around. She and I started to study the Word
together and we eventually found a small community of other believers in
the greek system. I was able to lead a Bible study in my sorority and
introduce the Word and share what God had put on my heart. This brought
other ladies in the house to a better understanding of who God was and that
he has a plan for their lives. This energized me and gave me a whole new
perspective on others and how powerful my influence could be.
I graduated and returned home and started to pursue a career in event
planning which led me a few cities away. I started to get involved with a
local church but knew God was calling me to a leadership role. I had always
wanted to be a youth leader since I had such vivid memories of my
adolescence and wanted to provide that for other kids to look back on. I
began volunteering as the girls leader for a small youth group at the
sister church of where I was attending. Instantly I felt like I had always
belonged to this group. I developed lasting relationships with the girls
and felt God's power and presence during my time with them. I was able to
use my own experience of living "in the world" and show how amazing God's
love is for us and how much he desires for us to surrender to Him. Many
friends of mine get exhausted after just hearing how many talks I had with
the girls and how redundant the discussions were, I just knew that I was
where I was meant to be. After a year and a half leading them I moved to
the Sacramento area to pursue my relationship with my now husband. In the
year and a half that I have been in Roseville I have felt a strong desire
to know God more and to gain a deeper knowledge of His Word. It is so
refreshing and comforting to know that God is always with me, always
revealing more of Himself to me and is always going to lead me to the right
opportunities and partnerships in my life.
