Master’s Thesis Topic: Lessons from Toxics Use Reduction in Massachusetts in the U.S. and Prospects for their
Introduction to China.
• Performed primary research through multiple interviews with chemical policy advocates in the U.S. and China,
including authors of TURA (Toxics Use Reduction Act), policy experts, professors, local government officials,
and NGO. Paper based on it will be published in “World Environment Journal” in China.
Research Assistant
• Contributed to the Open Indicators Consortium (OIC) project, a platform to transform publicly available data into
visualization. Collected and categorized data from public information platforms, drew images using software
(WEAVE) developed by the computer science department.
• Conducted primary research to collect users’ feedback from other organizations for WEAVE software.
• Programmed in MySQL to select data for analysis.
CHINA ROAD TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION (CRTA), Beijing, China 2006-2009
Officer with the International Cooperation Department
• Contributing writer for the “Feasibility Study on China’s Accession to International Convention on Road
Transportation”, an analysis of the transportation industry.
• Actively participated in large scale negotiations, CRTA internal discussions, and conducted in-depth study of all
related articles in the Cross-Border Transport Agreement and memorandum of understanding (MOU).
• Authored article “Interpretation of (Greater Mekong Subregion) GMS Road Transport Permits System”, published
in the professional journal, China Road Transport Magazine (Issue 2, 2008).
• Drafted and revised English version of speech given by Chinese delegate at the GMS Economic Corridor meeting
held at the UN Conference Center in Thailand; appointed by management to attend conference.
• Temporarily transferred to the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Transport as an official
and translator.
• Distributed surveys to approximately 400 companies in China to collect and compile data for “Annual Award of
Top 100 Trustworthy Enterprises in China’s Road Transport Industry”; survey results published in several trade
and business magazines.

• Member of the Ballroom Dance Club of UMass Lowell; represented the university in several dance competitions,
and won first place in silver level American Tango in 2010 Yale ballroom dance competition.
