Pasco County was created on June 2, 1887, from the southern third of Hernando County. The county has a total area of
867.95 square miles. The County budget exceeds $2b, and the Facilities budget is $10m. Facilities staff maintains over
200 buildings equaling 1.9m sf and over the past five years managed a $250m dollar capital budget. The role of Pasco
County Facilities Management Department is to provide for construction and renovation of County facilities,
infrastructure management and maintenance of Pasco County buildings in the most cost-effective manner possible,
while maintaining compliance with applicable departmental, agency or governmental regulations. The Department is
divided into three areas of responsibility: Maintenance, Construction and Administrative/Leasing Services.
Management reduced staff by 50% by creating efficiencies in facilities operations and procedures.
Managed & Directed $250m capital budget and constructed over 30 buildings & parks on time and in budget.
