2006-2010 Contract Staff Accountant - Robert Half & Associates. Duties:
Various temporary contract accounting and IT assignments at firms
throughout the greater Houston area. These assignments included:
2008 Staff Accountant - Green Hunter Bio Fuels. Duties: Design,
develop and deliver an Excel based Inventory Accounting model to
provide accurate levels and forecasts of receipts and deliveries for a
variety of materials. The inventory of such materials is complicated
by its properties of thermal expansion which changes its volume
requiring the system to account for other physical properties.
2007 Accounting Manager - Atlantis Power, LLC. Duties: Manage all
accounting, financial and treasury functions for the corporate office.
Recover and reconcile historical entries for all accounting records,
including data analysis and database cleanup.
2007 Manager - Offshore Source, LLC. Contract position through Robert
Half at Atlantis Power, above, became permanent at Offshore Source in
March 2007 via common company ownership. Duties: Analyze requirements
for, and recommended for purchase, all Information Technology
equipment, software, systems and support. Manage all accounting,
financial and treasury functions for the corporate office. Interview,
hire, manage, and train accounting personnel. Coordinate operations
and communications with manufacturing operations in China.
2003-2005 Sr. Systems Engineer - Boeing. Contract position through MEI
Technologies and Barrios Technology. Duties: Support the Orbiter
Program Director and Space Shuttle Orbiter Program Office at Boeing as
assistant to the Program Director. Monitor performance metrics,
prepare reports and status presentations to Executive Management on
various engineering projects and issues.
2000-2002 Manager of Accounting - G. A. Nicoll & Associates. Duties: Full
charge A/R, A/P, Payroll, Treasury, Cash Management, Management of
Accounting operations. Accomplishments: Designed, developed, tested
and implemented spreadsheet based computer payroll model for
verification of accounting database. Managed verification of
accounting records for migration to new system.
1999-2000 Systems/Business Analyst - Keenan & Associates. Contract
position through Coast Executive Search. Accomplishments: Supervised
the recovery of the employee benefits survey system database by
analyzing and repairing the security barriers on the database.
Prepared, documented and implemented a Database Recovery Plan.
Interviewed and recommended candidates for the new system maintenance
programmer.
1999 Systems/Business Analyst - Kaufman & Broad. Contract position through
Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. Assigned to Corporate
Information Systems. Duties: Assist in the integration and support
of the Fixed Asset module of J. D. Edwards Accounting software.
Receive training on AS400 host and software.
1993-1999 Senior Business Analyst - Home Savings of America/Washington
Mutual. Duties: Report to executive management on productivity,
budgets, planning, forecasting, and ad hoc data analyses. Act as lead
stakeholder for computer programs for data authentication, analysis,
and integration, and automation of tasks. Accomplishments: Designed,
developed, tested, documented, and implemented:
. Budget Variance analysis and reporting tool, which drastically
reduced data processing time;
. Budget Planning Guide application for annual budget forecast
data. Trained users, wrote user manuals, and provided first
line support;
. Appraisal Log and Reporting System prototype, including writing
the user manual and incorporating online help documentation.
Analyzed and documented user requirements, workflow, data flow
processes, and reporting requirements for the prototype system.
Advised and consulted programming consultants who implemented
the production version of the prototype.
1980-1992 Rockwell International Space Systems Division (SSD). Service
included the following assignments and positions:
1986-1992 Computer Systems Development Specialist - Duties:
Research, develop and document user requirements for computer systems
used by the Material and Procurement functions. Analyze data and
functional processes, develop design specifications for new and
modified control systems. Design, develop, test, document and
implement new systems and applications. Division Administrator for
"Rockwell Supplier Database" and "Supplier Directory," hosted in
FOCUS. Accomplishments:
. Designed, developed, tested, documented and implemented
automated "Supplier Performance And Rating System (SPEARS)".
Trained SPEARS users and provided first line support. SPEARS
was credited with helping reduce procurement costs for
materials, components and assemblies for the Shuttle Orbiter of
over $2M in the first year.
. Provided integration support to "Automated Carousel System"
including documenting integration plan of Hewlett-Packard
minicomputer and computer controlled overhead conveyor, for
Inventory Management function.
1983-1986 Systems Analyst - Duties: Research, elicit and document
user requirements and upgrades to existing Manufacturing systems.
Liaise with programmers, users, and management to determine and
document processes for maintenance, improvement, renovation or
reduction. Accomplishments: Designed, developed, and documented user-
driven database edits and data transactions for "Parts Order Location
And Reporting" (POLAR I), which was used to track all parts of the
Space Shuttle Orbiter, throughout Design, Engineering Release,
Manufacturing, Assembly and Integration, Configuration Management and
Final Roll-Out. Acted as liaison with users and programmers.
Analyzed data samples and performed database cleanup. The POLAR I
project corrected data errors and inconsistencies throughout the
database tracking over five million different parts per vehicle, for
six vehicles, and reducing data errors from 20% to .02%.
1980-1983 Senior Production Cost Analyst - Duties: Develop and
maintain computer programs for productivity management, indirect
budgets, and ad hoc data analysis. Research and report on automation
of tasks and data, assist other analysts in data collection. Provide
training to other analysts in computer applications. Accomplishments:
Developed automated "Proposal Pricing Dry-Run" application, producing
a pre-priced proposal costing baseline for aerospace projects.
Designed, developed, and documented "Time-Phased Ogive Curve Cost
Forecast Model" application. Integrated and assisted in the
implementation of "Automated Time Standards System," providing full
manufacturing time/cost forecasts using engineered time standards.
