2008 - 2011 Data Network Engineer - Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission
. Responsible for providing daily support the infrastructure of the WSSC
network at the main, RGH building and at 13 remote sites at various
locations throughout Prince Georges and Montgomery County consisting of
Cisco routers, switches and WAN devices.
. Completed the installation of the WLAN network and configured a Wireless
Control Server to monitor entire network.
. Installed application analysis software ACE Analyst to diagnose issues
related to performance across the LAN & WAN.
. Constructed real-time monitoring system using ACE LIVE and OmniPEEK to
alert IT staff of issues before they become large scale issues. Perform
daily checks of each system to provide proactive response to potential
issues.
. Primary lead on purchasing equipment for the Data Network group in IT.
Established new vendor relationships and maintained old one with
companies conducting business with WSSC. Created and established system
of inventory to keep track of what was purchased, delivered and

. In Partnership with CNS, provide monitoring of scanners that detect
malicious activity from various attackers and enter details of any
attacks into a ticket database. Upon review of alert determine best
course of action and if necessary escalate to senior engineers to take
appropriate action.
April 2006 - Sept. 2006 Maintenance and Monitoring Technician - Unisys
. Responsible for monitoring the Health and Homeland Security &
Transportation Screening Authority Wide Area Network of Windows servers
nationwide through the S.M.A.R.T.S monitoring system. Notified and
worked with Tier 3 technicians the NOC and SOC team to resolve issues
that arose during the overnight shift (9:00pm to 8:00am). Documented
daily activities during the shift.
Oct. 2000 - Feb. 2006 PC Network Specialist II - ASRC Aerospace
. Responsible for managing the T1 network infrastructure of the Farm
Service Agency (FSA) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the main
building and three offsite locations over seeing the monitoring and
configuration of Cisco 3600, 7507, 4000 series routers, 2950 switches,
PIX 520 Firewall and Enterasys Matrix series routers and switches. Duties
included installation, device configuration, network design and vendor
purchasing. Adjusting VLAN structure, access control lists and firewall
configuration when necessary. Performed troubleshooting of network issues
on a round the clock basis.
. Worked on network relocation of FSA offices and redesigning parts of the
FSA network to fit into the new Common Computing Environment (CCE)
nationwide network.
. Participated in the network merger of the Farm Service Agency (FSA) into
the national CCE network. Assisted in completion of building the new
network, advising government staff on solutions to problems arising from
changing structure and ideology of network design. Overhauled the local
regions mainframe printing system to use one method and which has become
a model for the rest of the country.
. Coordinated with the onsite contractor the cabling of FSA office space
when required.
. Completed the separation of Risk Management Agency from the FSA Enterasys
network onto their own Enterasys network.
. Configured the NetSight Atlas Console Management Software to show all FSA
network switches and routers.

virtual private network.
