While with Green Home Inspection Services, I conducted home inspections for
buyers to evaluate the homes' electrical, heating and air conditioning
systems as well as the structural soundness of the property. I conducted
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments using ASTM standards for real estate
transactions. I conducted environmental testing for radon, molds and
volatile organic compounds to evaluate the indoor air quality of the
building. Other duties involved conducting healthy home awareness
informational seminars to real estate professionals.
10/2002 City and County of Denver, Denver, CO
to 05/2007 Certification Analyst/Agency Trainer
I began with the Department of Environmental Health as the Agency Trainer.
This position
delivered citywide training programs to guide employees in the elimination
of hazardous/contaminated waste and the control of occupational hazards.
This was a remote worker position working out of a home office. I
maintained the city wide training data base and met with management from
various departments to ensure they were in compliance with city, state and
federal regulations. I also presented informational seminars on a variety
of environmental health and safety topics. I transferred to a
Certification Analyst position within the Office of Economic Development
where I analyzed applications to ensure compliance with the City of
Denver's Disadvantaged Women/ Minority Business Programs and presented said
applicants for approval to the certification review committee for final
approval. I conferred with the City Attorney to ensure that any denial of
an applicant was justifiable and defendable under city, state and federal
regulations that governed the program. While with the department, I was
promoted to Acting Supervisor/Operations Manager supervising five analysts
and support staff until a permanent replacement could be found. I conducted
informational seminars to the public on the rules and regulations that
govern the program and how to submit a complete package.
02/1996 M.E.S., Inc., Westminster, CO
to 08/2002 Environmental Manager
I worked with companies engaged in Brownfield development projects to
ensure compliance with the various environmental health and safety
regulations during construction. Met with public and private organizations
to explain the various phases of development and to ensure safety concerns
were addressed. Conducted Phase I/II assessments and directed studies to
identify environmental hazards and wrote the Health and Safety Plans (HASP)
to comply with state and federal regulations. I monitored and prepared
reports for exposure assessments to ensure proper personal protection
equipment and employee training was in compliance with the HASP. I
performed as the Health and Safety Officer (HSO) on special projects and
attended weekly meetings with project stakeholders to discuss and review
any changes to site health and safety plans and construction schedules.
06/1993 Occupational Management, Inc., Denver, CO
to 02/1996 Industrial Hygienist
I collected samples of dust, gasses, vapors, and other potentially toxic
materials for analysis using industrial hygiene procedures and techniques.
Investigated and conducted evaluations of occupational accidents that
involved exposure to chemicals or hazardous materials as directed by the
company physicians. I prepared reports including observations and
recommendations for control and or correction of job hazards. I
