My professional objective is to share the experience and skills I’ve acquired with an
engineering/manufacturing group. To participate as a team member, to learn new approaches, concepts, work
hard and see company goals met.
The skills and knowledge that I possess took years of working in multiple arenas of industry. The titles
held have been: design, manufacturing, project and product engineer. I have had the opportunity to participate in
the engineering and manufacturing of oil drilling equipment, pharmaceutical process machinery and systems,
refrigerated and heated commercial food service equipment, Laboratory equipment and industrial kilns and
furnaces. I have honed outstanding skills as a cad operator specializing in solid modeling with a thorough
knowledge of drafting standards and principals, coupled with in depth shop and manufacturing process expertise,
lean manufacturing being one example. I was a coded welder in my early career and have maintained my interest
and involvement with the trade as a designer and manufacturing engineer.
Quality Control Engineer / Design Engineer, (02/06/12 to 04/30/12)
HyPex Inc. Southampton, Pa. Precision Machine Job Shop, ISO 9001
As the quality control engineer, I work as the liaison between the customer and the in house quality control
inspectors. I was responsible for assisting the inspectors and upper management in the interpretation of
specifications, either regulatory or customer defined tolerances and maintaining the document control. The
majority of jobs are machined components for deep ocean oil drilling, pharmaceutical and military aerospace
applications. I perform design work in AutoCAD and Solid Works, with the majority of work focused on
mechanized and structural assemblies for tire manufacturing machinery.
Senior Project Engineer, R & D Manager, (04/23/03-06/06/08; 10/19/09-05/17/11)
Victory Refrigeration, Cherry Hill, NJ, Commercial Refrigerated Food Service Equipment
I had two tours with this major manufacturer of commercial refrigerated food storage and processing
equipment, the last tour as the R&D manager, I had total project responsibility for reengineering and bringing
select product lines into compliance with UL, NSF and the Energy Star, DOE mandates. I engineered two
unique interior food storage methods, of which the patent searches were performed and one resulted in a
provisional patent being issued. Also, I was responsible for design and engineering concepts, production
processes and procedures for new products. During my first tour with Victory, as the senior project engineer, I
developed from ground up and launched into production two new major product lines, back bar bottle coolers
and bread proofers which was in excess of $10mm annual revenue within a year development cycle. I
performed my solid model design work using Key Creator.
Sterilization Oven Manager, R & D Project Engineer, (06/16/08-08/27/09)
PennTech Machinery, Ivyland, PA, Pharmaceutical Packaging Machinery
As part of an international manufacturer group for pharmaceutical machinery, I was the product manager and
chief engineer for a sterilization conveyor oven product line. I had overall responsibility for the product
engineering through manufacturing and factory acceptance testing. The scope of my design involvement
included a ground up development of RAB glove boxes for the filling of vials with injectable fluids for human
use. I used Solid Works for my solid modeling and AutoCad for P&ID drawings.
Manufacturing Engineer, (05/30/00-04/20/03)
Little Wonder Mantis, South Hampton, PA, Commercial and Consumer Lawn and Garden Equipment
Here I designed machinery and devices for fabrication and developed systems and procedures for high
volume production of consumer grade lawn and garden equipment. I arranged numerous production lines by
orchestrating the resources needed as well as managing and directing their efforts. I used Solid works and
AutoCad.
New product Manager, (07/20/98-06/01/00)
Howard McCray Refrigeration, Philadelphia, PA, Commercial Refrigerated Food Service Equipment
W ith this company, I was responsible for the concepts and engineering of a broad redesign of existing product
lines, consisting of refrigerated food display cabinetry. My objectives were form, fit, and function. I coordinated
and oversaw the assembly of proto-types for UL and NSF testing and certification. Also, I ensured the
1
punctual release of market ready new product for major trade shows within an eighteen-month development
schedule. I used AutoCad for 3D wire frame modeling.
Manufacturing Engineer, (1995-1998)
Standard Keil Tap-Rite, Allenwood, NJ, Hardware and Gas Delivery Systems
My focus was the engineering and design of machines and systems needed for the manufacturing of
hardware and gas delivery systems for the food industry. I evaluated new product for repeatability and cost
impact, which included tooling, labor and material. I had total responsibility for the design of tooling and
fixtures for the foundry, die-casting, welding, and machining departments and set up systems and procedures
for the assembly operations. I used AutoCad for 3D wire frame modeling.
New Product Manager, (1992-1995)
Hill Refrigeration Trenton, NJ, Commercial Refrigerated Food Service Equipment
I was the manager responsible for technical directives and engineering solutions needed by manufacturing,
sales and service and did the design and documentation of the island style, mid and low temperature food
display cases. Spearheaded their continuous improvement and product redesign. I used AutoCad for 3D wire
frame modeling.
Welding Engineer, (1991-1992)
Lavelle Aircraft Co., Philadelphia, PA, Defense Aerospace Manufacturer
In order to meet the contract standards for the military and commercial aerospace industries, I was
responsible for interpreting and developing the welding requirements and qualifications. I controlled the
welding documentation, processes and the two foremen responsible for the arc and resistance welding
departments.
New Product (R&D), New Product Engineer Manager, (1983-1990)
Hotpack Corporation, Philadelphia, PA, OEM and Controlled Environment Laboratory Equipment
For this original equipment manufacturer, I headed the redesign and cost reduction projects of controlled
environment laboratory equipment. Engineered incubators, ovens, vacuum ovens and two patents were filed
in my name from those efforts.
Manufacturing Engineer/Foreman, (1981-1983)
Unique Kilns, HED Industries, Ringoes, NJ, OEM, Industrial Kilns and Furnaces
As the manufacturing engineer, I improved the product quality by setting up new methods and systems for
production and developed employee training. I also directed the trade craftsmen to meet shipping deadlines.
Certified Welder, ASME, API, AWS (1979-1981)
Joule and Rotator Services, Union and Metuchen, NJ
I worked in the oil and nuclear industry, with a long-term contract at Plasma Physics lab as a specialty alloy
fabrication specialist.
