Primary Care 8 weeks: Pine apple Health Center, Dr. Roseanne Cook, Pine Apple, AL; Franklin Maysville
Clinic, Dr. Karen Millender, Mobile, AL: Out-patient facility: performed history and physical exams to
diagnose and treat common illnesses including: diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, endocrine
disorders, headaches, migraines, abscesses, renal failure, common GI problems, GU disorders and STI’s,
respiratory problems, and orthopedic problems. Worked in rural clinics and medically underserved and
un/underinsured populations with poor access to care to assure therapeutic standards.
Internal Medicine 4 weeks: Mobile Infirmary Medical Center Wards, Dr. Wendell Erdmann, Mobile, AL:
In-patient facility: performed daily hospital rounds on Internal Medicine team, wrote daily progress notes,
discharge summaries, gathered lab and diagnostic study results for clinical assessment and management.
Psychiatry 4 weeks: Baypointe Mental Health, Dr. Shakeel Raza, Mobile, AL
In-patient facility: provided adolescent psychiatric evaluations using the DSM-IV, diagnosed and treated
common psychiatric illnesses including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance
abuse, and other personality disorders.
General Surgery 4 weeks: Baptist Health, Dr. John Mark Vermillion, Montgomery, AL
In-patient: performed daily hospital rounds on a surgical team, wrote daily progress notes and discharge
summaries, evaluate and monitor daily laboratory values, assisted in surgery.
Emergency Medicine 4 weeks: Thomas Hospital, Jason Brett Presley PA-C, Fairhope, AL
Performed initial evaluation and management of patients, ordering and assessment of labs, diagnosis and
treatment of patients for common ER complaints. Procedures included: arm/wrist and ankle splinting,
suturing/stapling/gluing wounds, suture/staple removal, incision and drainage of abscesses.
Pediatrics 8 weeks: USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Mobile, AL
Includes 4 weeks of in-patient ward care, writing progress notes, analyzing laboratory data, performing
physical exams, utilizing team approach for treatment recommendations. Additionally, 2 weeks in the
Children’s Evaluation Center performing emergency medical care; and 2 weeks of out-patient clinic for well-
child examinations of developmental milestones, diagnosis and treatment of common pediatric illnesses, and
providing parental guidance.
Neurology 4 weeks: Emerald Coast Center for Neurological Disorders, Pensacola, FL
Out-patient: Treatment of neurological diseases in clinic setting for conditions such as: headaches/migraines,
multiple sclerosis, tremors, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, stroke, and neuropathy.
Obstetrics & Gynecology 4 weeks: USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Mobile, AL
In-patient: Round daily on patients on Labor and Delivery and Gynecological Surgery floor, assist in C-
section and vaginal deliveries, evaluate OB/GYN Emergencies and complaints, STI screens, and provide
contraceptive counseling.
Cardiology 4 weeks: Cardiology Associates, Mobile, AL
In-patient and Out-patient: Consult services on adult and pediatric cardiologic illnesses including CHF clinic
and heart catheterization procedures.
Professional Experience
August- September, 2012
Medical Mission trip 4 weeks: Honduras at Loma De Luz hospital
Worked as a medical provider in primary care clinic settings for very impoverished communities addressing
common family practice concerns. Managed emergencies ranging from major to minor trauma. Assisted with
anesthesiology during cesarean sections. Performed women’s health pap/pelvic exams in isolated rural
settings.
