Experience
Research Experience
Limited Term Researcher – Institute of Energy Conversion, University of Delaware, Aug. 2011-present
Produce Cu(InGa)Se2 thin films for solar cells using a batch selenization process. Cu-Ga-In precursor films are reacted in a H2Se atmosphere to produce Cu(InGa)Se2 using different glass substrates and process modifications. Characterize reacted films using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and other advanced methods. Coordinate experiments and report results with senior researchers at IEC and at the glass company that sponsors the research.
Research Assistant – Institute of Energy Conversion, University of Delaware, Jan 2010-Aug 2011
Characterized the optical and electrical properties of cadmium stannate thin films primarily using variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry. The films are being used as a transparent conductive oxide layer for CdTe solar cells.
Independent Study – Physics Department, Drew University, Sept. 2006-May 2007
Studied Cepheid variable stars in order to determine the period and distance of the stars.
Teaching Experience
Teaching Assistant – University of Delaware, Sept. 2008-May 2010
Lectured, wrote and graded quizzes and exams, and graded homework for introductory level physics, astronomy and electronics courses.
Resident Counselor – New Jersey Governor's School in the Sciences, July 2007
Assisted advanced high school students in college-level summer coursework in various sciences.
Other Work Experience
Intern – Callanen International/Sequel International, Winters and Summers 2004-2008
Filed order data into Excel spreadsheets. Started a Microsoft Access database to manage orders. Computer and Information Technology jobs, including preparing laptops for deployment and troubleshooting computers.
