Software GE Smallworld v4.1

Type Overseas Assignments

Overview This project is setup to document the internal structure of stations and to topologically connect

them with the electrical lines in their own GE Smallworld based GIS systems.

Scope The scope of work starts with the comparison & availability of the information provided on the

source record and the data available in the substation detail & the geographical world. The

internal structure of the substation is then digitized with respect to the source & client

specifications. The electric cables are traced in the geographic world and the respective

connections are made inside the substation in accordance with the source data. Final checks are

done for connectivity and replication of features. The electricity network contains about 14,000

mid voltage stations to be digitized in which electricity is transformed to the low voltage of 400

volts.

Responsibilities/ Was deputed to the Netherlands to execute the Pilot of the Eneco Energie project.

Accomplishments Got opportunity to learn the GIS Software (GE SmallWorld version 4.1)

Was solely responsible for the process flow and project documentation.

Personally monitored the errors that occurred during production to achieve the desired

quality.

Title Enexis & Enexis Was_Wordt Project, Netherlands

Software GE Smallworld v4.1

Type Enexis Electric and Gas

Overview The project mainly deals with the placement & re alignment of the house service connections in

their own Smallworld based GIS system called Gen.

Scope The network comprises of gas & electrical facilities, placement of service connections from the

main pipe & maintains according to the rule base & specifications and also maintains feature

connectivity of various electrical & gas features. The conversion of the service connections &

dimensions was done as per the source record available in the PDF format.

Title Enexis Was_Wordt

Scope The scope of work is to re align the existing Electrical/OV & Gas network along with the

existing dimensions accordingly with respect to the newly updated topography & deletion of

the temporary topography in the GEN for various regions of the Netherlands.

Responsibilities/ Was deputed to the Netherlands to kick start the Pilot of the Enexis Was Wordt project.

Overview The project deals with merging of ducts & cables & running translater to generate XML data &

run DBQC and solving of errors. Delivery QA for assuring delivery in proper format &

contents.

Scope The scope of work starts with duct layout, data entry, database linkage of duct data from

various sources like plant map, duct map & intelligent vector data. These include all

distribution side, Exchange side & Link MU CJ cables. Conversion of Blown fiber tubing &

Blown fiber tube joint which was successfully completed in utility software Teemvue. Post

digitization is performed with connectivity checks based on co ordinates information on whole

exchange followed by Quality Assurance on sample basis & online correction.

Responsibilities/ Involved in placement of Drop points (DP’s) & performed QC before handing over to

Accomplishments Quality Assurance department.

Performed database quality checks before running the translators.

Took active participation in the Graphics & database QC.

Personally monitored the errors that occurred during production thus assuring smooth flow

of the procedures involved in the project.

Overview The project deals with placement of various gas linear & point features & maintains proper

connectivity between them. Delivery QA for assuring delivery in proper format & contents.

Scope The project involves digitization of gas maps into intelligent graphics that have database

connectivity of various features. GIS software Geomedia Professional is used to keep track of

the network in real time environment. The process includes digitization of new gas lines & its

related point features which were to be placed, removed & abandoned according to the

specified work orders. Rolta provided the database with complete connectivity of various gas

features for entire gas network.

Responsibilities/A Involved in testing & actions to aid in the project implementation process.

Overview The objective of this project is to create Navigation Data for AND.

Scope The objective of this project is to create Navigation Data for AND, which can be used for

Shortest Path to reach Destination, Mark Inaccessible areas of Traffic, etc. Rolta scope of work is

to create all land base data specified by AND which is topologically clean and must be

appropriate in terms of connectivity and continuity of Road network.

Navigation data produced was very effective solution for ‘Focusing Traffic Restriction Areas’ as

well as shortest path for any navigation system.

Responsibilities/A Quality check of navigation data as per A N D rule base.
