Summary:
Began as a Branch Sales Manager in 1998, then moved to Human Resources in 2003. As HR
Generalist/Manager, I recruited to help open a new region on the west coast. Creating and implementing
a full spectrum of HR operations, systems and programs. Worked with senior management to create HR
policies and procedures; and develop orientation, training and incentive programs. Managed leave-of-
absence programs and personnel records; administered HR budget and handled HR generalist workplace
issues.
Key Results:
• Played a key role in ensuring the successful launch of the west coast region. Structured
and implemented programs and policies in the areas of training, compensation structures,
benefits packages, incentives and new-employee orientation which lead to the growth of
one office to seven branch offices in two years.
• Fostered a teamwork/open-door environment conducive to positive dialogue across the
organization. Personal efforts were cited as the driving force behind branch's employee-
retention rate of 89% within an industry where turnover is normally around 75% for loan
officers and telemarketers.
• Negotiated over 100 salary and commission offers at both the exempt and nonexempt
level.
• Reduced benefits costs by 12% annually through meticulous recordkeeping and ensuring
the company did not pay for benefits for which employees were ineligible.
• Routinely updated employee manual covering issues including disciplinary procedures,
code of conduct, FMLA/CFRA policy and benefits information to remain in accordance
with employment laws and changing demographics.
• Introduced weekly employee reviews to keep the lines of communication open between
employee and manager.
• Revised job descriptions for full-time, part-time and contract workers. "Shadowed" and
interviewed employees to construct an accurate picture of the duties and skills required
for each position.
• Instituted monthly and quarterly bonus and incentive programs for lower level employees
and managers increasing production on a yearly basis.
• Created a monthly Profit and Loss statement for branch offices giving managers real time
results of office profitability on a minute by minute basis.
