Project Manager, Enterprise Content Management
Challenged to lead the re-architecture of a Documentum deployment at a
leading insurance company specializing in the energy industry. The
resulting applications support global Claims, Loss Control, Underwriting
and Legal activities. . Managed architectural evaluations,
infrastructure and application provisioning, development guidelines and
compliance, vendor selection and management, and budget management.
V Led an Enterprise Content Management Re-architecture and
Infrastructure project managing project deliverables and budget,
project staff and client expectations. Initial rollout supported
Claims and Property Underwriting and Loss Control.
V Extended new architecture to Legal and Reinsurance functions in 7
months. All projects delivered under budget, on schedule and with
expected functionality.
V Completed roll out to all Underwriting and Loss Control departments in
12 months.
V Built an extensible enterprise architecture that defined capabilities,
standards and processes that are reusable in future technology

ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, Enterprise Content Management
Challenged to create and lead a new development group in the Application
Shares Services Division to support global business development and $6
million in annual projects. Spearheaded enterprise content management
activities for multiple business units and offices in the US, London and
Bermuda. Leadership role involved architectural evaluations,
infrastructure and application provisioning, development guidelines and
compliance, vendor selection and management, and budget management.
Significant activities also include document and content management,
technology acquisition and provisioning, infrastructure management and
process development. Manage an international team of two Business
Analysts/Project Managers and five Developers; indirectly supervise six
Technical Services Specialists and outsourcing teams.
V Started up an enterprise content management architecture and
infrastructure in London and Stamford, Connecticut that was the
springboard to future technology projects. Initiative involved
defining standards and processes related to development, production,
and quality assurance.
V Acted as Project Manager for a significant legal content management
system that creates a global repository for paper and electronic legal
documents across the corporation. Project reduced legal expenses.
V Spearheaded an e-filing cabinet project to support cost effective
implementations for content management applications.
V Contributed to a multi-million dollar revenue stream by establishing a
loss prevention extranet. Project creates property loss prevention
survey reports regarding client properties and distributes information
on a secure external facing website used by client's risk managers.

BAYER PHARMACEUTICAL DIVISION - West Haven, CT 1/1996 to 7/2005
IS PROJECT MANAGER - 2000 to 2005
Tapped to lead the expansion and forward momentum of the Document
Management Systems Team charged with maintaining applications to manage
over eight million pages of documents submitted to national and
international regulatory agencies such as the FDA and support
implementation of global R&D applications. In summary, spearheaded
Document and Content Management Systems for North American Bayer
enterprises, technology needs assessments, project scope definition,
budget design, global project management, global relationship management,
regulatory operations support, application architecture, infrastructure
management, vendor relations, and change management initiatives. Prior to
reorganization in July 2004, held HR and budget accountability for
Document Management Systems. Managed a five-person team and collaborated
with multiple colleagues in the US and Germany.
V Presided over a global design and infrastructure initiative and North
American implementation project when Product Development folded from a
62 country infrastructure to a single global organization. Managed a
ten-person global team and was catalyst in project delivering a
significant improvement in pharmaceutical product development
timelines and accompanying document models and milestones.
V Provided technical leadership and project management expertise to
AdTracker project designed to help US Marketing Group to slice
advertising and promotional material review costs and standardize
material tracking and electronic submissions. Instrumental in project
delivering a return on investment in less than one year by generating
a six-figure savings in shipping and courier fee costs.
V Led an electronic submissions project enabling company to submit
documents to regulatory agencies three months ahead of projected
deadlines and save costs by downsizing staff members. Previously the
staff needed several months to manually prepare documents for
submission.
V Chosen as US Project Manager for an existing Electronic Archive System
project. Application was transferred to a Documentum-based archive in
the US and Germany and included migration of 800 gigabytes of scanned
images. As a result, regulatory compliance was strengthened, and by
retiring an existing system, cost savings were realized.
V Acted as Project Manager and Application Architect for an Accounts
Payable Document Management System designed to reduce processing time
and enable company to promptly pay any overlooked A/P invoices.
V Won Quality Excellence Award in 2002 for VEST-ED (eSubmission of
Vardenafil) and in 1999 for Remote Access Team.
IS PROJECT LEADER - 1998 to 2000
Initially joined Bayer providing IS support for Clinical Trial data
collection and statistical analysis projects, a critical component to
pharmaceutical product development. In 1999, began working in the
Document Management Team and directed all aspects of multiple Document
Management Systems projects.
V Directed a QA Document Management Project to shift production
documentation processes to a technology platform. Managed team that
created a 21 CFR 11 compliant application allowing staff to resolve
bottleneck issues and improve compliance issues.
V Led a Partner Communications Project and a cross-functional IS team
tasked with creating a two-part solution to improve communications and
resolve problems with delays in closing clinical trials. Established
T1 network connections for Clinical Research Organizations and a modem
pool for associates performing remote monitoring functions on PCs.
STAFF ANALYST - 1997 to 1998 ( SENIOR ANALYST - 1996 to 1997
Relationship Manager between IS and Statistics and Data Systems,
identified technology and business improvements, and provided project
definition and management to execute improvements.
V Participated in an Electronic Data Capture Project as company desired
to boost success rates for clinical trial data transfers from a low
25%. As Project Manager, guided a cross-functional team comprised of
end-users, IS and EDC (vendor) staff that achieved a 95% post-
implementation data transfer success rate.
V Managed a cross-functional team consisting of internal IS and vendor
staff members that contributed to the success of an EDC-Impact
Interface Project. Harnessed the power of EDC data collection
technology to monitor patient recruitment rates and complete clinical
trials faster than before. Time and cost savings were achieved for
expensive Phase I, per-patient clinical trials.
V Leveraged project management expertise and participated in ClinTrial
Implementation Project when company selected a global platform for
clinical trial data gathering and analysis initiatives. Facilitated
Oracle training for the Statistics and Data Systems Department staff
and contributed to mainframe service costs reductions.

Leveraged technology expertise and joined company to assist an HMO in
migrating from minicomputer based applications to Oracle client server
applications. Scope of functions included application architecture,
strategic planning, technology and data warehouse evangelizing, database
design, CASE tool engineering, quality improvements, technology
assessments, change management initiatives, and providing IS support to
client communities.
V Key player in a Mammography Tracking System Project that identified
and tracked at-risk breast cancer patients. Instrumental in delivering
a $1.75 million malpractice cost savings in first year.
V Architected a data warehouse and end-user reporting solution and
evaluated an end-user reporting tool that was adopted company-wide.
Decision Support System improved key performance indicator management
report and lowered cycle time for Clinical Quality reporting regarding
support of patient care improvement projects.
