Dear Company Recruiter:
Please accept my resume as a formal indication of my desire to be
considered for the position of part-time office assistant/event
coordinator.
I am a degreed professional with a history of solid work experience in the
field of financial accounting. I am looking to re-enter the workforce on a
part-time basis, after having stayed home to raise my children for the past
few years.
During my time at home I have continued to keep my professional skills
updated and in use by volunteering weekly in the administrative office at
my children's school. My primary duties include filing, copying, faxing,
preparing bulk mail-outs, and greeting & escorting visitors around the
school campus. I am very personable, and always present myself in a
professional manner.
Aside from my volunteer activities at the school, I am also the Social &
Events Committee Chairperson for my daughter's dance company. It is a non-
profit contemporary dance company based in Cedar Park. As committee chair,
I coordinate all social events for the company including a kick-off Meet &
Greet, themed Christmas parties, cast parties following performances, and
end of season parties, just to name a few. This involves planning,
logistics, decorating, coordinating menus, and making all party favors/gift
bags. It is hard work, but it is very gratifying to see the end product on
event day, and the joy it brings to all in attendance.
My other key skills consist of good organizational skills, attention to
detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multi-task. I am
very dependable, conscientious, a fast-learner, and highly trainable. I am
proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
While I have been out of the traditional workforce for some time now, I
truly believe that my volunteer experience and strong work ethic would be
of value to you. I would appreciate your consideration of me for the
available position.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my experience and qualifications
with you in more detail at your earliest convenience. You may contact me
at *********@******.**.*** or by telephone at 512-***-****.
Sincerely,
Jayne M. Saucedo
