Nurse Practitioner - Wexford Health Sources, Inc. - SCI-Chester, PA

In my position of nurse practitioner, I am responsible for the primary

care to all inmates of the facility. This includes

Management of acute illness, sick call, supervision of the routine and

preventative care and follow-through as needed.

Duties include making rounds in the Restricted Housing Unit, sick call,

My position as project manager of the Neurological Emergency Treatment

Trials in the Emergency Department included duties which involved assisting

with the management of daily activities of all NETT research project

activities, program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities included coordinating program activities in collaboration

with multiple project partners in areas of documentation, logistics,

resource allocation, and deadline/time management. I prepared reports,

proposals, and assisted in project design and analysis; assisted and

participated in research activities such as research subject screening and

enrollment, data collection and data monitoring. I was responsible for

ensuring competencies and IRB certifications are up to date for all

research personnel; provided direct supervision of at least three staff

employees, as well as research interns and was to oversee the department's

summer research program. As a nurse practitioner, I was responsible to

collect medical information - test results, patient history, etc. and

determine whether the patient met criteria for inclusion into various

clinical trials. Physical examinations were performed by me, in

particular, cardiac, neurological and pulmonary function of potential

research subjects. Keen assessment skills and decision making of the

patient's level of disability are necessary for exclusion into specific

protocols. Once a patient has been deemed qualified, detailed protocol

Worked as Infectious Disease Division research manager/Nurse Practitioner.

Review all HIV research protocols to determine requirements for

implementation and feasibility within Thomas Jefferson University.

Periodically review resources, both internal and external that could result

in the identification of new projects. Serve as departmental resource

person for HIV research protocol development, initiation and

implementation. Manage research projects, master all protocols, and act as

liaison between Office of Human Research and the sponsors and the Office of
