Experience
Jan 2013- August 2013 Winco Foods
North Las Vegas, NV
Stocking/Cart clerk
I was in charge of stocking shelves.
I arranged items properly on shelves and made them look neat.
I answered any questions that customers had.
I collect all carts and from the parking lot.
I clean out carts of trash and debris for customers.
When I had extra time I ask the managers inside if they would like help,
inside the store I normally would help stock the shelves, clear empty
cardboard boxes from the shelves, sometimes I was asked to load the soda
machines when they were near empty, and if needed I help customers carry
groceries and load them in their car.
When my shift is just about over I push all the carts forward making it
easier for the customers.
May 2006-Febuary 2010 AArrow Ads
Las Vegas, NV
Head of Training
I ran and scheduled all of the Las Vegas practices.
At these practices I trained anywhere from twenty to about forty five
spinners at each practice (with occasional help from the general manager).
I trained the sign spinner's new tricks with both the signs and themselves,
such as flips, spins, cartwheels, hand springs, etc.
I trained the spinners how to pause the sign so they get the message across
but at the same time are keeping the traffic entertained and getting their
attention.
Since I was the head trainer I was also in charge of recruiting new
potential spinners. I was in charge of making sure we had enough spinners
to cover all the upcoming spots we had available.
I was also responsible for scheduling the spinners for work every week
along with scheduling, I also had to keep track of all hours that each
spinner spun every week.
When AArrow inc. had lots of clients in the Las Vegas market I was
scheduling about thirty to forty spinners a week for an average of five
hours a day.
While the spinners are out working I was responsible for going around and
auditing the spinners, if a spinner looked like they were having problems I
would go talk to them maybe give them a break after I found out what the
problem was and checked if they were able to continue to working. If the
spinner was unable finish up the day I would send them home and finish the
day for them.
I was the head trainer in the Las Vegas market and due to this I had to
evaluate the sign spinners for raises every 3 to 6 months depending on how
the spinner's work ethic has been over the past months.
While with AArrow Inc. I was sent to new markets that AArrow was getting
ready to open up. I was sent to these markets to help get the market up and
moving, to build teams for the new market and to train people who I
believed were capable of becoming the trainers for the new markets,
While in the new soon to come markets we advertised AArrow's name by sign
spinning in major areas where plenty of people could see us in action,
doing this helped the new market grow and gain more business and sign
spinners.
October 2008-December 2009 Wal-Mart TLE (Tire and Lube Express)
Las Vegas, NV
Service Greeter/Cashier and Stocker
It was my responsibility to greet and take down the customers orders
While taking down the customer's request I would make suggestions that I
believed would suit what the customers would like. In other words try to up
sale.
When we were busy outside I would help the technicians with some of the
more simple tasks, such as battery changes, headlight replacements, fuel
injections, ECT. I was limited on what I was able to do because I was not a
certified mechanic.
When we were short on people for the inside they usually sent me inside on
the cash register since I have lots of experience with the cash register.
If the phone rang I was usually the one to answer it, because I had so much
knowledge of my department it was an easy task for me to do, to help keep
customers happy.
When working inside I would greet customers as they entered and exited the
store, keep the shelves stocked with merchandise, straightened, and looking
nice, and of course check out customers making sure they paid the correct
amount before letting them leave the facility.
When working night shifts I was usually the one to close for the night.
When closing I would bring in the tires that were outside for display. I
took the batteries that were replaced or were deficient outside to the
battery cage to be picked up later on in the week. I cleaned up inside the
bay (were the technicians work) by picking up tools, cleaning trash laying
around, and make sure that the oil filters were put in the used oil filter
bin. Before leaving for the night I made sure all the doors were closed and
locked, then I would call a manager and wait for them to do the final lock
up.
March 2004- December 2005 Jupiter Golf
Las Vegas, NV
Maintenance tech./labor
I worked on the mechanical pitchers at the batting cages usually.
Whenever one of the mechanical pitchers would break down or jam I was
responsible for fixing it as fast as possible to keep our customers happy.
When holes were made in the catching grid, do to rough winds, foul play, or
just normal wear and tear I would patch them up when it was safe to do so
(when there were no customers batting).
When our business was slow or we had many workers working I would work on
the golf range doing clean up and pick up of golf balls
While working on the golf range I would drive a golf cart with a pick
attachment for the golf cart which picked up golf balls that were on the
driving range.
After picking up the golf balls I would fill the ball washer with some
chemicals made for cleaning the golf balls, then I ran them threw the ball
washer and loaded the golf balls into the ball dispensing machine after
they were properly cleaned.
While on the range If the driving range looked sloppy I would do several
small tasks to straighten it up and make it look better such as; straighten
up the mats, pick up trash, make sure the chairs were straight and not
flipped over, and other things just to keep the golf range looking nice and
professional to keep customers impressed and comfortable.
