Professional Experience
Other Experience
I have worked on hydraulic and electric actuation equipment on U.S. Navy
Ships. I also worked on firefighting equipment for the U.S. Navy.
I have created 2D drawings and 3D-Models of U.S. Navy ships. Then created
general, space and topside design arrangements using 3D-Models. Also, I
used 3D-Models to create graphics presentations renderings and videos.
I created 2D drawings and 3D-Models using Solidworks software of various
parts to be analyzed in Analsys software. To apply stresses on the model to
see if the model would fail.
I created 2D drawings and 3D-Models of Future Nuclear and Fossil power
plants for clients. Using 3D-Max software to make conceptual Renditions and
Videos to show clients and the public at community meeting. What a power
plant would look like on the designated site located near the community.
I created 2D drawings and 3D-Models of Architecture buildings using Autocad
Architectural software. Inserting building into rendering software to make
a realistic scene from various locations. Where the building would be
located for clients and public community meeting for approval.
I created 2D drawings and 3D-Models of piping layout, pipe hangers and pipe
supports for nuclear and fossil power plants.
I created 2D drawings and 3D-Models of Electrical circuit boards for
nuclear, biodiesel and fossil power plants.
Mechanical Designer/Autocad/Solidworks Operator
July 2011 to Present
I am presently working for a company called Skybuilt Power. Skybuilt
Power design mobile deployable wind and solar power systems for the US
Navy, Army and Air Force. My work was to design wind turbine and support
system to be attached to ISO Container for a complete power station in a
standard freight container (10 to 40 feet long) or other shelter.
Self-contained unit that ships with renewable power generating components-
solar panels, wind turbines, battery bank, etc.-securely inside.
Deployed container provides both power and a climate-controlled interior
for optimum equipment performance, and use as a storage facility or
operations center.
Expandable simply by adding more solar and/or wind components.
Can be engineered as a completely renewable energy or as a hybrid system
with generator backup.
Mechanical Designer/Autocad/Solidworks Operator
July 2006 to September 2010
I worked on the first U.S. Shroud-tie rod repair. MPR was contracted to
Designed tie rod constrain to be located at four locations around a six
stories high shroud barrel located between inside diameter of the reactor
vessel and reactor core assembly. The six stories high shroud was made up
of five to six horizontal barrels welded together at various locations. The
four shroud-tie rod constrains assemblies was installed to prevent the five
or six barrels from shifting out of alignment doing an earthquake. My job
along with others was to design and test various 3D-model parts to insure
that the constraint assembly wouldn't fail during an earthquake event.
Also, to make sure that the shroud-tie rod constrains could be installed.
Mechanical/Electrical Designer
July 2009 to May 2010
I worked on the Neela Biodiesel Skid Project. A company base out of
Houston, Texas that contracted MPR Associates to build a mobile Biodiesel
skid to be transported around the country to make diesel fuel. I was assign
to the project with others to design the skid and to look at biodiesel
production to see whether it is economically viable to make biodiesel. This
will depend on many factors, the most crucial being the cost of the
vegetable oil and cost of methanol. Also, water separation from waste,
methoxide mixing, methlester washing, methlester purification and methanol
recovery. My job was to design the skid to install various components to be
able to transport the skid over county & state road to various locations.
The 3D-model of the skid needs to be able to pull fabricated manufacture
drawings from the model. The job was completed in nine months.
Mechanical/Autocad/Inventor Designer
March 2003 to June 2006
I worked on the first U.S. Annealing project in this country with help from
the Russia. MPR was contracted to Developed a method with the Russia to
anneal the inside diameter of a reactor vessel to removed stress cracks
from the reactor vessel. My role was to developed conceptual design and
create fabrication drawings to show how this would be achieved.
Mechanical/Autocad Designer
April 2000 to October 2002
I worked on MPR development of the food Irradiator. As a Mechanical
Designer, I worked with Engineers to develop a mobile proceeding unit to
irradiate Hamburgers, Hot dogs and Bologna. Irradiation is the only proven
method of killing harmful pathogens, such as E-coli, salmonella in chicken
and listeria in processed foods. We designed a unique irradiator unit that
is highly effective, and adaptable to a wide range of product. We used
cobalt 60 gamma rays to irradiate boxes of hamburgers and chickens to kill
these pathogens. My role was to designer the mobile unit and proceeding
unit to fit into a mobile trailer unit.
Mechanical/Mechanical Desktop/Autocad Designer
June 1999 to May 2000
I worked on the first U.S. Core Spray Piping Replacement for Vermont Yankee
Nuclear Power Plant. The team of MPR Associates, Inc. (MPR) and Framtone
Technologies Inc. (FTI) were awarded a contract by Vermont Yankee to
perform a complete replacement of cracked core spray piping inside their
Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) vessel. The core spray system provides
emergency cooling water to the reactor core and includes 75 feet of five-
inch diameter piping inside the reactor vessel. Intergranular stress
corrosion cracking near welds was identified in the core spray piping at a
number of domestic and foreign plants. MPR design approach involves
removing all the existing core spray piping, which is susceptible to
cracking, and replacing it with material that resists stress corrosion
cracking. My role along with others was to design reactor vessel nozzle
safe ends, core spray spargers, recirculation piping and long handle
tooling which will be used to manipulate and install the replacement piping
in the reactor vessel. This installation was performed underwater, 60 feet
below the refueling floor.
Mechanical Designer
June 1981 to November 1983
. I worked on the cleanup of Three Mile Island Unit 2 Reactor Vessel. As
a Mechanical Designer, I worked with a team of Engineers and Designers
to design tools and a method to remove debris from the bottom of Unit
2 Reactor Vessel. We successfully removed thirteen specimens from the
bottom of Unit 2 Reactor Vessel and shipped those specimens around the
world to be analyzed. By scientists to study the meltdown of metals
involve in the Three Mile Island Nuclear Accident.
