"Detection of a unique protein in a Pisum sativum L. mutant, involved in
the control of genetic tumor formation in the absence of ultraviolet
light."
Mutant and normal plants of Pisum sativum L. were grown in a specially
modified growth chamber, in the presence or absence of ultraviolet light.
Proteins were extracted from the pods by a combination of protocols, and
separated and analyzed by both SDS-PAGE, and two dimensional
electrophoresis with isoelectric focusing in the first dimension, and SDS-
PAGE in the second. Also, actively synthesized proteins were radioactively
labeled with 35S methionine/cysteine and extracted and analyzed as above.
