Volunteer Field Advocate at American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
November 2012 - Present (8 months)
I am a volunteer field advocate for AFSP/Suicide Prevention Action Network-USA. I am involved in the
suicide prevention movement because I lost my oldest son, Eric, to suicide Jan 2011, who was everyone's
favorite person including mine. AFSP increases awareness of suicide as a public health problem, promotes
fed, state & local public policies and disseminates information into communities about such programs. As a
field advocate I will strive to blot out the stigma associated with suicide, and build relationships with related
organizations while supporting suicide survivors who share this life-altering experience in silence separately.

4 people have recommended Connie
"Connie is flexible and capable and can easily adapt to the changing needs within her job title without losing
the key focus of her overall professional purpose. She would be an asset to any company, plus she has a great
personality and she is able to put out the fires that crop up in the course of a day without having to involve a
lot of other staffers in making the fire go out. Moreover, Connie is terrific in one-on-one meetings with
clients and others that need to be related to."
David Lewis, Assistant Classical Editor, Rovi, worked directly with Connie at Rovi
"Connie is an outstanding business development professional. Her ability to manage content relationships was
invaluable to my job at Rovi. Connie rocks!"
Rashaan Josey, Director, Technical Account Management, Rovi, worked with Connie at Rovi
"I have had the pleasure of working with and knowing Connie Harrison for over 15 years. I first met Connie
when she was a merchandising operations manager for Borders during the beginning of the transformation of
the music industry and a period of dramatic growth for Borders. Connie had enormous clout in making
merchandising and advertising decisions for the Borders chain and she was always viewed as an advocate for
her employer, concerned about Borders bottom line, but at the same time a person who treated fairly the
members of the recorded music community. Four years ago I had the good fortune of again crossing paths
with Connie again in my role as President of A2IM, of which Rovi/All Music/Media Guide is a member.
Connie and Rovi are a key resource for the independent music community and Connie as the Rovi
representative ensured all of our members were aware of the benefits, which are also used by the
SoundExchange of which I am a board member. In addition given Connie's strong skill set I have included
Connie in small delegations A2IM led to England and China to represent the independent music label
community overseas. Anyone needing an eloquent hard working manager who can adapt to the changing
media marketplace would be well served by hiring Connie. Rich Bengloff, President, American association of
Independent Music"
Richard Bengloff, President, The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), was with another
company when working with Connie at Rovi
"Connie is extremely knowledgeable about the content and products driving the music and movie business.
She consistently works as an advocate for her clients and understands how time sensitive data can be. She is a
great partner and a leader in the industry."
