URI, UTI, dermatology conditions. Providing wellness exams
on newborns to
end of life. Ordering and interpreting labs, diagnostic
exams, and providing
referrals when needed. Educating people on injury
prevention, lifestyle
modifications, and wellness.
08/07 - 09/13 Winnie Palmer Hosipital Mother Baby Unit
Registered Nurse Clinician
Responsible for providing direct and indirect total nursing
care responsibilities
including the delivery of all aspects of nursing care to
patients seen as high risk postpartum and newborns.
Assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning,
implementation of interventions, and outcome identification
of all patients. Supervision of patient care technicians
also is a part of the RN responsibility. Collaboration with
Physicians and ARNPs regarding delivery of optimal patient
care and advocating for the patient. Perform 12 lead EKG
interpretation, remote telemetry, IV placement and use,
medication administration, venous blood draws on both women
and infants, admissions, discharges, and patient education.
Occupational health RN for unit consists of providing fit
testing and ppd administration and interpretation for
employees. Precepting nursing students and new RNs hired
to unit. Providing education on current and changing
practices that are evidence based to keep the unit up to
date on the most current practices. Part of the Unit
Practice Council that discusses budgeting, practicing of
best and safest care, and advocacy for patients.
