United Methodist Home for Children, Mechanicsburg PA 2010-
2013
Performing as a child care worker I take care of youth residents ranging
from 8-18 years old. I work on creating and promoting a healthy and
positive environment, managing youth's schedules, transportation and peer
related issues along with behavior modification techniques.
Widener Partnership Charter School, Chester, PA Field
Placement 2012-13
Being a social work intern in a Kindergarten class I helped the teacher
structure discipline and social-emotional learning. Also, I participated in
parenting classes and school wide initiatives to incorporate community
involvement within the school.
Montgomery County Youth Center, Norristown PA Spring
2012 Internship
Working closely with the full time staff at the Youth Center, I gained
experience in communication and de-escalation techniques. I had the
opportunity to work in the detention and shelter side as well as observe
Juvenile Court.
Juvenile Law Center, Philadelphia PA Spring 2012
Internship
As an intern at the Juvenile Law Center, I helped with various office
tasks. Also, I worked on specific projects such as finding alternative
treatment plans, creating power points and spreadsheets portraying
statistics of juvenile delinquents. I gained ample experience in Excel,
Word and professional skills such as note taking and attending large
conferences.
St. Mary's Villa for Children and Families, Ambler, PA 2008-
2012
As a volunteer through Gwynedd-Mercy College's Campus Ministry department,
I visit St. Mary's once a week engaging the youth in team building
activities and tutoring in the subjects of Mathematics, History and
English.
Academic Resource Center, Gwynedd Valley, PA 2010-2012
As a professor recommended tutor, I work in the Academic Resource Center
tutoring peers in the subjects of psychology, criminal justice and the
courses included in the Honors Program.

As a student worker, I call alumni to update their information and to also
let them know what is new on campus, which also involves the college's
annual fundraising campaign.
