I have over twenty years of pharmacy experience including working as a
hospital, retail, and long term care pharmacist. I have an in depth
clinical pharmacy background including chemotherapy and was the interim
director of pharmacy for a 240 bed hospital for the past three months. My

As interim director I have been in charge of the day to day operation of
the pharmacy department for a 200 bed hospital. I have made several
positive changes in the pharmacy including implementing a new med error
reporting system, hiring two new technicians, and addressing medication
shortages. I prepared the pharmacy for joint commission and worked with
other management leaders to address the needs of the hospital and pharmacy
department.

My responsibilities at S.R.H.S. have included all aspects of hospital
pharmacy including but not limited to the following: processing medication
orders, performing pharmacokinetic calculations for dosing regimens,
formulating TPN, renal dosing of medications, compounding of medications,
preparing IV solutions including chemotherapy, participating in drug
utilization reviews, and rounding as part of a multidisciplinary team. I
was responsible for medication reviews of the patients on the TCU unit and
reporting problems and requesting medication changes. I counseled patients
as part of the cardiac rehab class and counseled patients through our
outpatient employee pharmacy.

NCS Healthcare was a long term care pharmacy providing medication and
medical supplies to nursing homes. While at NCS I worked a 7 on 7 off
midnight shift. My responsibilities included receiving and processing
medication orders, arranging delivery of medications, answering questions
from nursing homes, and filling and checking monthly or weekly medication
fills for the homes.
PHARMACY MANAGER, Thrift Drug / Eckerd Drug (1992-1989) Sharpsville, Pa
At Thrift Drug and then as Eckerd Drug I was trained to be a store manager
as part of their pharmacy intern program. As a pharmacy manager I was
responsible for the daily operation of the entire store including the out
front. I was responsible for meeting operating goals and managing
inventory. I maintained all pharmaceutical and financial records and was
responsible for interviewing, hiring, and managing of all store employees.
I received specialized training in management and personnel skills. My
pharmacist duties included filling prescriptions, billing 3rd parties,
counseling patients, ordering medications and keeping accurate medical and
DEA records.
