WORK H ISTORY SUM MARY : S TRATEG IC TASKS: Commodity Strategy: Have established
electro-mechanical commodity strategies with divisional and corporate commodity managers by
analyzing $100 million spend at Becton and Dickinson and awarded business to Flextronics in Mexico.
• Have done supplier r isk assessment at K LA Tencor, Becton and Dickinson and put some
contingency plans in place by reviewing printed board assemblies and electro-mechanical suppliers
w hether they are sole sourced, have serious financial crisis, whether they rely too much on one
customer, whether they have possibilities of supplier interruptions in their business or whether their
cost drivers are out of control.
• Have worked out some contingency plans with Flextronics to have satellite manufacturing and
warehousing centers in accessible country locations to buffer any supplier interruptions that might
lead to part shortages.
• Outsourced $21 million of optical and printed board assemblies to Plexus Malaysia at K LA Tencor
because of their business model, modern factory, twenty-percent cost savings and more streamlined

• Conducted quarterly business reviews with Plexus, Flextronics, and Tobar Industries at American
Medical Systems, Becton and Dickinson on total cost of ownership. Measured suppliers on cost history
and competitiveness, quality, on-time delivery, service level and technical support. Gave feed of the
reviews to the supplier’s representatives and our company management.
• Have writ ten specific business expectation agreements with Swiss Optics, Konica Minolta at K LA
Tencor on inventory issues, tardy supplier deliveries, forecast, long-lead material issues and purchase
order cancellation issues
• Worked with the operations team at Becton and Dickinson, American Medical Systems and K LA
Tencor on lead-t ime reduction programs, supplier rationalization and consolidation of our sheet-metal
and machine suppliers, printed circuit board assemblies and packaging supplies from 300 suppliers to
25 suppliers. This result was a 25 percent cost savings, a much smaller supply base that was easy to
manage, and shorter cycle times.
• Have participated in key supplier audits with Supplier Quality Engineers by auditing Casix and
Castech Optics in China and other machine shops in Taiwan by auditing their systems, operations and
quality areas.

• Review weekly MRP purchase requisitions to place orders for plastic, OEM, machine and sheet-
metal parts, outsourced subassemblies, optics, packaging material and printed circuit boards in
various companies
• At K LA Tencor and Becton and Dickinson, ran, reviewed and consolidated SAP reports for excess
and obsolete material, past due orders, material review board stock, purchase price variance costs and
savings and provided feedback to management for business analysis
• Worked on performance measurement reports for on-time delivery, late and early supplier
deliveries, MRP requisition buys report, MRB parts return report, accounts payable aging report, and
quality reports and gave management the data for employee follow up and execution.
