Resident Assistant New Brunswick, NJ
Rutgers Residence Life April 2010-May 2012
The Resident Assistant is tasked with creating inclusive communities made up of
individuals within the residence halls as well as enforcing residence hall policies.-
Responsible for providing for successful and pertinent programing and community
buildingfor over 300residential students. Accountable for crisis response, and conflict
resolution in the residence hall.
LEADERSHIP
President and Founder of Rutgers Shalom/Salaam
Created and led the organization, recently named “Most Outstanding New Student
Organization” at Rutgers University that is dedicated to bridging the gap between Jews,
Muslims, and Christians through community service, cultural exchange, and mutual
respect.Created, developed and implemented: the organization’s constitution and vision,
successful and well-attended cultural programming which has: raised money for local
charities, and strengthened bonds on campus between different student organizations and
campus constituencies. The organization won “Most Outstanding Community Service
Outreach Program” for our initiative, People of Abraham United Against Hunger Events
which fed over a 1,000 meals to the hungry, provided cold weather clothing to the needy,
and brought together Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others including imams, Rabbis,
Christian clergy to build bonds and break bread.

Graduate of Certificate Program that offers 25 students the chance to study the practices
and processes of politics through seminars, internships, and meetings with governmental
and political officials at the Eagleton Institute of Politics.
