HEAD OF DESIGN SERVICES, 6/2001 to 5/2013
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER, 4/1988 to 6/2001
Designed and renovated new tenant spaces and updated existing properties; managed planning and documentation of
over four and a half million square feet of commercial space consisting of office buildings, retail outlets, hotels, high tech
and distribution facilities, research labs and two regional convention centers.
Responsible for space planning, interior design and construction drawings across the corporation. Performed
well in both team and autonomous environments demonstrating high-level efficiency, reliability,
effectiveness, and ability to readily transition from one project to another. Carried out a myriad of duties
including Client relations and proposals, schematic design, site design, CAD drafting, site visits,
correspondence, punch-list inspections, construction documents and design of millwork/custom furniture.
Produced and coordinated specification, contract, and other architectural documents with engineers and
architects under the direction of the Vice President of Real Estate Sales.
Clients included News 12 NJ studios, Gloria Vanderbilt, Internal Revenue Service, Crowne Plaza Hotels,
Invacare, GSA, Bellsouth, Camp Dresser & McKee, and Chase Manhattan.
Selected projects…
New Jersey Convention Center: Converted existing flex hotel building into a profitable convention
center. Expanded facility twice to eventually create a 150,000 square-foot facility that houses a full
conference center and food service court. Evaluated and selected site, reviewed survey and
site/structural plans, planned space, designed interior, and supervised construction. Oversaw
restoration following damage from Hurricane Sandy. This facility now generates four times the
revenue it generated in its original incarnation. Project’s success prompted SAI to purchase Garden
State Convention Center in Somerset, which has also been very profitable.

News 12 NJ Television Studios: Played an integral role in the development of a ground-up television
studio site in Edison. Met with client to develop space program and determine needs. Recommended
a facility from our inventory of available spaces, developed initial layouts and final design, made
presentations to top level executives. Coordinated with technical staff and engineers to maximize
effectiveness of studio equipment, stage design and lighting. Coordinated selection of colors, finishes
and interior design elements. Prepared full design and construction drawings including numerous
custom pieces to accommodate the use. Worked with construction management team to insure a swift
implementation of the final design.
BellSouth Offices: Worked closely with telecommunications company to establish tenancy in a multi-
story office building. Interacted with client representative to establish needs, measured and
documented facility, prepared space plans and furniture layouts for approval, designed visualization
program for tenant approval, revised plans as needed, and compiled lease documents. Completed
final construction drawings upon signing of the lease. Prepared plans for municipal approval.
Oversaw construction, archived records, and managed tenant relationship to ensure long term client
satisfaction.
Gloria Vanderbilt: Design of a wholesale showroom and distribution facility in Edison, NJ. This
facility needed to function as a warehouse and distribution management facility, but also be effective
as a sales showroom with appropriate finish levels commensurate with the client’s reputation. My job
was to survey the property, prepare design drawings, present them to upper management, coordinate
finishes and fixtures, prepare final construction documents and assist the project manager in final
construction. I also prepared warehouse rack layouts and receiving offices in compliance with local
and national building codes for the tenant’s use in securing the relevant permits.

T ECHNOLOGY S KILLS
Proficient utilization of AutoCAD Architectural, Revit Architectural, AutoCAD 360, Photoshop, Illustrator,
Acrobat, Dreamweaver, RedStick, MS Word, Visio, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook, and Remote Office
applications.
I am also skilled in using digital photography and video to document space and create a database of our
facilities for use by the whole company. This was especially valuable after hurricane Sandy to show the
condition of facilities before and after and secure higher insurance reimbursements.
