Work was under taken to develop a process to use the acid waste for gypsum
p roduction. Gypsum is produced by mixing the limestone with waste sulfuric acid.
E xperimental studies were conducted to analyze the reaction for various
compositions of limestone and acid waste. Reacted samples were collected at
d ifferent time intervals to estimate conversion. The effect of reaction time and
l imestone particle size was studied on rate of reaction.
