Responsible for coordinating all terminal renovation construction projects between the Port of Los
Angeles contractors and our daily terminal and stevedoring operations, raising and retrofitting of the
shore side gantry cranes to accommodate the larger vessel deployment. Developing the operating plan for
the terminal automation project; including new equipment, method of operation, manning and labor
reductions. Represent TraPac with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, (ILWU), for labor
relation grievances, arbitrations, discrimination and sexual harassment complaints and contract
negotiations.
June 2003 to June 2006 Director of Contract Implementation
Pacific Maritime Association

Responsible for monitoring, auditing and enforcing the Longshore contract to ensure the member
companies of the Pacific Maritime Association are in compliance with the contract in their hiring and pay
practices and the proper utilization of labor for the port operations on the United States west coast.
Report to the member companies Coast Steering Committee on hiring trends, labor savings, contract
violations and penalties. Review the longshore agreement and Pacific Coast Marine Safety Code to
member company superintendents on how they pertain to vessel, rail and terminal operations.
January 2000 to June 2003: Director of Corporate Planning

Procedures; Development and Design of Terminal Layout and Implementation of Technology; Review
and evaluation of operational procedures as they relate to cost; ILWU Labor Contract, Port Leases and
Customer contracts. Purchase terminal cargo handling equipment, retrofitting the shore side container
gantry cranes and coordinating the terminal renovation construction project with the Port of Long Beach
and their contractor.

October 1984 to July 1998: Stevedoring Services of America
General Manager - Pacific Container Terminal
Long Beach, California.
From August 1995 to July 1998 held the position of General Manager of Stevedoring Services of
America’s largest container terminal, responsible for the daily operation of the terminal’s vessel,
intermodal rail and terminal operations. Coordinated with the shipping lines to expedite the
vessel working and sailing schedule, and scheduling with the consignees and trucking companies
for the movement of priority cargo, while working closely with U.S. Customs for high risk
vessels.
