review. I am foreign mechanical engineer with over 8 years’ experience, assessed by University
of Toronto ; also certified by Humber College as Solidwork Designer and Fluid Power
technician.
I worked in the engineering department of Caterpillar Tunneling, preparing and detailing
designs and drawings of components for manufacturing of customized mechanical parts and
assemblies of automatic machinery.
I am mechanical experienced with layout and detailing of metal fabrication parts including
structural welding, forming and cutting, machining and assembly.
The above make me lively interested in the position as Mechanical Designer.
Back home I initiated my career as Research fellow (scholarship) in the Materials Science
Department/1990 – Universidad Del Valle, where I studied metallurgy applied for welding
processes and heat treatments of low and high alloys steels; posteriorly I went into
manufacturing industry as mechanical engineer.

In this role, I prepared working layouts and finishing drawings of components and assemblies
from specification, prior layouts, well-defined sketches, models or verbal instructions from
senior designer or project manager sufficient for manufacturing detailing.
Other responsibilities included (but are not limited to):
• Drawing AutoCAD-2D major or minor components, assemblies, or systems.
• Perform mathematical calculations to work out detailed additions to specifications.
• Develops Solidworks design and preparation of shop drawing packages.
• Make corrections, revisions, and changes to layouts in Solidworks 3D CAD as directed.
• Coordinates and works in conjunction with others workers designing, laying out, and
detailing same or related products.

In this role, I assembled system and subsystem of Tunnel Boring Machines in accordance with
schematics/isometric drawings and other technical documentation by using professional tools
and overhead crane.

• Hydraulic plumbing/ tubing of automatic actuators.
• Dismantle and reparation of hydraulic components.
• To carry out the troubleshooting of complex equipment utilizing fitting, adjusting,
securing maneuvers.
• Shop duties of housekeeping, clean, lubricate and others maintenance work, service
attachments and working tools.
