Production/Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager

Restructured the entire Purchasing System and how daily Purchasing takes

place. I order every thing for use in the shop as well as in the field,

anything from nuts & bolts to outside services. I restructured the

Inventory Control system to make it easier for Production and the

assemblers to do their jobs. I took control of Quality Control and

Receiving departments. Cut turn around time from weeks to hours. Product

available same day it arrives now. Also updated RGA system where ALL RGA'S

are handled within 72 hours of receipt. Prior to this you were looking at

up to 6 months for this to occur. This has aided the sales department

greatly. In the past they would quote product availability as two to three

weeks now it is when you want it. Turn around on product is within 24 hours

or we can ship the same day ordered.

2004 - 2007 A-1 Components Hialeah, FL.

Warehouse/Material Management & Inventory Control Manager:

Restructured warehouse and totally rearranged it to make it easier to work

in and much easier to find product to ship. I supervised 10 hourly

warehouse personnel and 2 hourly crib clerks in each stock room. I

overhauled stock rooms to ensure accuracy and quality in material going

into and out of stock rooms and into the production line.

In was charge of Inventory for physical 2004 & 2005, best inventories

company had ever had. Took on another department to fix their problems and

made a complete turn around of department. I restructured the way cycle

counts were being handled and improved the accuracy from 50% to 96.6%.

6/2003 - 6/2004: Wal-Mart Supercenter St Lucie West Port

St Lucie, Fl.

Assistant Deli Manager:

Supervised the evening crew (14 people) in a very busy deli department.

Handled all customer complaints and insured customers were satisfied when I

had finished with them. I ordered the goods sold in the Deli along with the

supplies needed to run the Department from one day to the next. I enjoyed

the fast paced atmosphere that this department had and I enjoyed working

with all of the customers. Before I left I was on a first name basis with

many of them. This was the #1 Deli in the district when I was there.

2003: Jet Aviation West Palm Beach, FL.

Buyer/Planner/Material Management Coordinator:

I controlled all material being supplied to Hangar Mechanics. Procured

emergency items needed to keep customers aircraft flying and not on the

ground (Received two letters of commendation for my work). I Worked with

SAP system using it as a tool to find hardware that was urgently needed.

1973 - 2002: Pratt & Whitney Aircraft West Palm Beach, Fl.

Buyer/Planner/Analyst:

Procured aircraft engine hardware, anything from nuts & bolts to major

assemblies as well as test equipment & services. Handled ALL blanket orders

that were done at this facility both product & non product. Worked closely

with engineering, Quality, & finance to ensure that the hardware we

procured stayed within budget yet met our needs and our requirements. I

worked in Southington, Ct. plant in Quality Assurance as a Special

Assignment Inspection Lead-man. It was my duty to over see Gear Lab,

Airfoil Lab, Broach Lab, & Major rotating inspection area (21 direct

reports). I trained all new inspectors in Blue Print fundamentals as well

as visual and mechanical inspection techniques. Both Southington & the West

Palm Beach facilities were ISO certified locations.

Received numerous peer recognition awards for my work and was nominated for

employee of the year three years in a row. I received two Presidential

Awards which were given to employees whose ideas saved the company at least

2.5 million dollars a year.

Was certified in all aspects of purchasing from non-product, product, and

inter divisional buying (buy within other facilities that are part of UTC).

Prior to relocating to the West Palm Beach facility of Pratt & Whitney I

was a Special Assignment Quality Control Inspection Lead-man. It was my

duty to train all new QC inspectors and to go to outside suppliers and

audit their QC program.

Received a Suggestion Award for a tool that I designed which cut the

inspection time of a JT9D hub from 6 hrs each to .75 of an hour for an

annual savings of 1.5 million dollars. Tool is still being used today.

Certified in all aspects of Quality Assurance and Purchasing as well as

Project Material Control, Inventory Control Management, & Warehouse

Management through Pratt & Whitney & the University of Florida FEEDS

program. This training occurred from Sept. 1988 through August 1997 at

PBCC.
