PROJECTS
Effects of Using a Vertical Mouse on Errors, Motion Time, and the User Experience, San Jose State University, 2012
• Collected quantitative data and analyzed the effect of using different computer mice on motion time and error.
• Designed a counterbalance within-subjects repeated measures test that took into account carry over effects and
other possible factors.
• Evaluated forearm and wrist posture during mouse use from an ergonomic point of view, and collected qualitative
data through an interview about perceived comfort and the user experience.
• Moderated the testing process for 32 participants, and presented findings.
Waiter.com Usability Study, San Jose State University, 2012
• Collaborated with a team to carry out a full usability test with eight participants that included both new and current
users.
• Recruited participants, created goal and task based scenarios, moderated the testing process, used screen capture
and facial expression recordings to identify usability issues and assess users’ emotions, analyzed videos and
interview responses, and presented findings in a report that achieved a final grade of “A”.
Usability Evaluation for Mozilla Thunderbird, San Jose State University, 2010
• Conducted a usability evaluation based on qualitative data gathered from direct user observations (shadowing) and
extensive web research.
• Assessed Thunderbird’s shortcomings in implementing engineering psychology and user centered design principles.
Global and local issues were highlighted, and recommendations provided.

• Assisted professors and graded exams, lab reports and assignments. Worked independently under tight deadlines to
meet the professor’s quality and timeline expectations, and ensured fair and equal grading for all students.
Resident Adviser, SJSU International House, San Jose, CA 08/2011- 05/2012
• Student leader in a diverse, international community. Communicated with residents to help meet their needs, acted
as a mediator in conflicts, and ensured the safety and well-being of residents.
• Worked with cross-functional teams to organize and promote large-scale events on campus which were a great
success, such as the “International Quiz” and “Pancake Breakfast”.
• Took charge of social media public relations and initiated, then administered the very successful SJSU International
House Facebook page.

• A summer job purely based on communication skills and building relationships. Taught the Arabic Language and
introduced students to different aspects of Arabian culture, contrasting the difference in cultural norms between

• Helped develop the company’s project management system, and saved the company thousands of dollars by
personally training project managers through lectures, workshops, and 1:1 follow-ups on how to create and modify
time schedules using MS Project, and made sure that the implementation of the project management system met
the company’s quality standards and provided an organized projects portfolio.
• Conducted research –1:1 interviews, contextual inquiry, surveys- to identify potential issues and opportunity for
improvement in the company’s day to day operations, and played a main role in the research and implementation
of the company’s new document management system. Collected data and analyzed results.
