PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Deer Oaks Behavioral Services: November 2012 to present: I currently provide
psychological services to long-term care facilities. I provide individual therapy, assist
with treatment team meetings, and provide psycho-education to the facility staff to
enable them to better manage problem behaviors exhibited by the long-term care
patient.
• Bryce State Hospital, Tuscaloosa, Alabama : August 2008 to March 2012.
Position: Director of Admissions. This position required initial psychological
evaluations of committed patients into the state psychiatric system. Also this
position involved direct individual psychotherapy, mental status evaluation,
psychometric testing and completion of testing reports, group intervention,
psychotherapeutic education groups, forensic testing and evaluation to determine
competence to stand trial and mental state evaluations (not guilty by reason of
insanity), crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, homicidal risk assessment and
direct supervision of psychology interns attending the University of Alabama.
