The functional tasks:

• Trademarks:

Responsible for preparing and filing trademark applications, renewals, assignment, change of name and address, etc.

Trademark searches availability, and reports.

Filing Request for Extension of Time.

Preparing and submitting publication and final registration.

Responses to the examinations, office actions and the examiner requests.

Translations of legal paper work, such as Registration Certificates, Power of Attorney, Assignment, Certificate of Incorporation, etc.

Draft correspondence to clients regarding status of applications, registrations and upcoming requirements and actions.

Contact with foreign associates regarding instructions from client.

• Patents:

As a Patent Assistant, I am responsible for preparing all documents for the filing of Patent applications and their procedures (for ex. Drafting documents for filing national phase applications, Drafting Response to Office Actions, Response to Missing Requirements, Issue Fee/Publication payments, Request for Certified Priority Documents, etc.).

Filing applications of amendments, assignments and correction.

Responsible for renewals payment.

Reporting all documents received to clients (ex. Filing Receipts, Notice of Acceptance, Notice of Publication, Office Actions, Notice of Allowance, Patent Issuance, etc.).

Follow up with clients regarding upcoming deadlines and missing requirements.

Update application status by following up with Patent Office.

Instructing the filing and following up of patent applications for GCC Countries and North Africa.

Reviewing database deadlines.

Maintaining patents in general.

• Industrial Designs:

Opening and maintaining Design files

Preparing all documents for Design application filings and Office Action responses;

Drafting documents for Publication

Coordinating formal drawing preparation and reviewing same

Responsible for and preparing renewals

Drafting correspondence to clients and foreign associates

Reviewing database deadlines

• Others:

When necessary served as a Receptionist and Personal Assistant, answered phones, received deliveries, prepared legal documents, scheduled meetings, etc.

Legalizing documents such as POA, Deed of Assignment, etc. for the clients in different Consulates.

Performing general administrative duties.

Sending and receiving correspondence.

Monitoring and recording expenditures.
