Work history
• Copy desk manager, Times Record
I have been employed at the Times Record in Fort Smith since July 1999. I
began my career as a page designer/copy editor and was promoted to copy desk
editor in April 2005. My duties include managing a staff of 10 and overseeing the
nightly production of newspaper pages. I also oversee the production of maga-
zines produced by the Times Record staff. I design pages as needed and do a great
deal of proofreading and help maintain copy on the Times Record website. I am
also responsible for communications with other departments and serve as the
troubleshooter and “go to” person for the copy desk. From 2000-2006, my depart-
ment also produced news pages for The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas,
and I helped to manage a staff of about 25 people during that period.
• Copy editor, Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, 1997-1999
I joined the Herald-Press as a news reporter in May 1997 after I graduated

until I accepted a position with the Times Record in July 1999.
