Information Technology Manager (2001-2009)
Manage complex and challenging global pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing sites including network administration, data center operations, business continuity planning, desktop support, help desk, telephone systems, video conferencing, security systems and operational support.
• Managed installation of infrastructure for new facility in support of 200 clients: cabling, servers, PCs, conference rooms, video conferencing equipment, telephone systems, and computer room ensuring seamless continuity for newly relocated clients providing maximum productivity.

• Integrated newly acquired company’s NJ facility into the Abbott Infrastructure, including desktop image, email, LAN, WAN, and telecommunications, accelerating new employee effectiveness.
• Support manufacturing systems including ; TotalChrom, Building Management System, GLATT Coater all 21 CFR Part 11 compliant. Staff received continuous cGMP and 21 CFR Part 11 training to support validated environments.
Associate Director of Technical Services ( 2000-2001)
Provided senior technical leadership to eight-site North American Region. Direct 29-member team supporting entire systems infrastructure for 1,500 employees (including field sales force): i.e., Novell Netware, Microsoft Windows NT, Unix, telecommunications systems. Developed strategic technology plans; managed installation and upgraded projects; supervised and developed staff. Controlled $4 million dollar operations budget.
• System integration – Key technology team member on business/technology integration project following March 2001 acquisition by Abbott Laboratories. Demonstrating strong knowledge of business and systems orchestrated data migration process from BASF Pharma to Abbott. Reconciled PC lease agreement terminations, equipment shutdowns and migrations managed move of retained employees to new facility, and executed separation plan of infrastructure from BASF.
• Strategic planning – Approved strategic technology plans, projects and budgets for all sites in North America; accountable for ensuring technology investments were aligned with business direction and integrated with corporate technology standards.
• Infrastructure ($300K project) – Planned and directed installation of networking, voice/data communications for new warehouse, completed on time and 5% under budget.
• PC rollout ($500K project) – Managed project supplying PCs for entire 700-member field sales force; oversaw comprehensive hardware and software upgrade in tight two-week timeframe. Completed 20% ahead of schedule and 5% under budget.
Senior Site IS Manager, Whippany, New Jersey (1995-2000)
Managed 7 member staff and all facets of Information Systems in a validated environment for a 300 employee facility, including network administration, desktop support, telephony systems and operational support. Authorized all hardware and software purchases for the site; created and justified $1M budget and allocations for two cost centers.
• PC standardization – Proactively managed $1M project to install new corporate-standard hardware/software environment site-wide, executing seamless rollout despite vendor difficulties. As first site to complete process, developed processes to standardize installation across the corporation.
• Laboratory installation – Managed complete wiring of 4,000-sq. ft., 96-node laboratory. Designed Local Area Network and interconnected to existing network with fiber optic cabling. Overcame communications and teamwork difficulties between combined union/non-union workforce to bring project in on schedule and under budget.
• Lotus Notes rollout ($70K project) – Overcame user resistance to new application through education, training and ongoing communication; completed project on time and 10% below budget.
• Telephone system replacement – Brought $210K project in at 3% under budget, managing complete system installation over one weekend in a narcotics manufacturing site with tightly restricted access.
• Help desk – Conceived and launched the facility's first formal PC support structure for 150 users. Directed the design of customized Access database application to log and track calls; developed help desk procedures; defined performance expectations; recruited staff. Decreased response times and exceeded performance benchmarks.
