Working as Project Engineering Manager of a Greenfield project of integrated rice processing complex, main

responsibilities included:

Responsibilities:

Directly reporting to G.M (Projects), was fully responsible for project management of a Green Field, Grass

Root project which involves construction of an Integrated Rice Processing Complex along with all its

associated utilities. The complex is now the most modern and largest Rice Processing Facility in Pakistan.

The capital intensive project has a budget of 50MUSD and project duration was 24 months

Project involved extensive coordination and integration between Process and Project department, Equipment

Vendor, Civil design consultant, Mechanical design consultant and Contractors for civil, mechanical and E&I

work.

Responsibilities include;

Leading a team of 40 multi disciplinary engineers for the safe and successful execution of the project.

Engineering:

Review of engineering documents, project specifications, datasheets and engineering drawings for all

disciplines and ensuring that all the project requirements are incorporated.

Procurement:

Review of prepared purchase requisitions, Scope of work, Invitation to bid, tender documents for all the

associated purchases and construction work with the objective to ensure that all the project

requirements have been taken care of. This mainly includes;

o Equipment like centrifugal pumps, Diesel generators, Pre Engineered Metal Building, Mill

Equipment, Conveying Systems, Air Compressors, Power Cables, etc.)

o Engagement of contractors for civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C work

o Engagement of OEM’s TAs for plant commissioning

Cost Management:

Compilation of Project budget as per project scope

Regular Monitoring and Control of budget as per approved baseline

Scheduled reporting to higher management and proposing “change request” whenever required

Stakeholder Management:

Issuing weekly project update to G.M (Projects) and higher management

as Dy. Mgr. (Projects) was to ensure the successful completion of Urea Revamp Project starting from the

review of Process Design (Stamicarbon) to Performance Test and Plant Handover. Main tasks include:

Engineering Corporation in comparison with international standards and mother plant (Toyo Engineering)

specifications.

Detail review of project specifications, Piping Isometrics and Equipment data sheets to ensure that these

are in line with project requirements.

Preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications and Purchase Requisitions for procurement. Prepared

requisitions for equipment like;

Pressure vessels and Heat exchangers for Urea Plant

Tray modification in Urea Reactor as per Stamicarbon specifications

Procurement of materials as per plant requirements, responsible for preparation of technical

specifications, technical evaluations and preparation of final recommendations for procurement. Have
