Process Piping Designer

Typical responsibilities:

- Develop mechanical layouts and piping design from P&ID's

- Design work including piping, equipment, and support designs

- Create drawings and isometrics suitable for contractor bid packages

- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D, AutoPlant XM, Navisworks, CadPipe, and IsoGen

- Background in heavy industrial Chemical plants, wastewater plants, petrochemical plants, and mining industries

Specific knowledge:

- Understands highly Complex P&IDs used in power plants, refineries, and oil platforms.

- Verifies the Vessel and Equipment Data Sheets, Valve and Instrument Data cut sheets.

- Utilize site survey needs and required existing underground, background drawings.

- Utilize Piping Specifications, Piping Standards, and possesses strong 3D modeling techniques.

- Meets all the Client CAD requirements, Safety requirements, and Environmental requirements.

- Understands Cost effective methods used to meet Budget and schedule requirements.

- Lead duties include verifying all data needed to finalize the following items:

a. Verify piping components bill of material meets specifications

b. Verify Piping Isometrics ready for final field install

c. Utilize the Line List to determine from the P&ID’s best route of each system

- Specific CAD software training & experience includes:

a. AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Navisworks, IsoGen, and CadPipe

b. Bentley’s AutoPlant XM Pipe package

c. Aveva’s PDMS Pipe package

Piping Designer 12/19/11 – 1/09/12 Contractor

S & B Engineers, (Eastman site) Longview, Texas

Prepare 3D equipment layout plans using Bentley AutoPlant XM software thru Bentley’s Vision for an upgrade to the Eastman facility. Also was trained in HighCad LFM server digital 3D program to locate existing structures and undocumented equipment. While modeling equipment using cut-sheets and building equipment from the digital model.

Piping Designer 10/10/11 – 12/12/11 Contractor

Tessenderlo-Kerly Services, (TKS Woods St) Carlsbad, NM

Prepare pipe plan and sections drawings using Bentley AutoPlant software for an upgrade to an existing oil refinery. Prepare pipe routes and utilize pipe spooling methods to create drawings for field installations of each process piping systems.

Prepare the piping drawings of a mining processing plant. Prepare using PDMS software for pipe routes for the Ruby Creek Molybdenum mine in Canada – Project value $400M. Develop field installation drawings for field crews to centralize the crushing, flotation, thickening, and finished product. Work with a large multi-discipline design team of AMEC engineers and designers. Attended SPED training classes after work in-house classes.

Prepare the preliminary up-front design drawings using AutoPlant XM. Design new manufacturing plant for a high purity Polysilicon facility in Moscow, Russia. Project value $400M.
