Founder Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health | Operations | Licensed Counselor | Creative Problem Solving | Speaker | Author

I am the founder of Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health in Flower Mound, Texas and have a passion for guiding my counselors and other professions who work with children and their families. This driving force has made me a sought-after counseling expert and business transformation leader.  I am also known worldwide for my pioneering research on the effectiveness of Equine-Assisted Mental Health.

As a published author and conference speaker, I am considered a thought leader on tackling contemporary issues that both counselors and laypeople face on a daily basis, such as teen suicide, trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting and navigating the emotional pitfalls of social media.

I myself experienced a frightening and traumatic event as a passenger on the Carnival Triumph cruise ship that drifted for a nearly a week in the Gulf of Mexico. The ordeal gave me personal knowledge of what it means to suffer from post-traumatic stress.
I have stepped back from direct patient care to reach a broader audience, through public speaking, training and publishing. Don't worry I will be around managing my successful group practice, expanding and adding more talented counselors at Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health, Flower Mound, Texas and opening soon in Sarasota, FL.

Dr. Trotter holds a doctoral degree from the University of North Texas where she studied and practiced Play Therapy at the UNT Child and Family Resource Clinic and Equine Assisted Counseling.
