About the Role

We are seeking experienced Sr. Software Developers (COBOL Developers) to join our Software Engineering team. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader, contributing to the design, development, and testing of mainframe-based software solutions that support our Bank Solutions product suite.

You’ll collaborate in an Agile environment, tackling complex business challenges and delivering scalable, high-performance solutions that enhance client and customer experiences. This position provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects and contribute to evolving our software architecture and development standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe and COBOL-based applications supporting critical banking solutions.

Serve as a technical expert, assisting with architectural design and defining technical and functional standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver software enhancements and new functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to scalability, performance, reliability, usability, and security.

Support continuous improvement by applying Agile, DevOps, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

Utilize source management tools such as GIT for version control and code collaboration.

Contribute to software design patterns, data modeling, and ensure compliance with SOLID principles.

Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with organizational standards.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.

Basic Qualifications

Associate’s degree in computer Programming or related field (Bachelor’s in IT or related discipline preferred).

9+ years of relevant experience in application development, preferably within financial or banking systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with iSeries, Unisys, or other mainframe environments.

Strong proficiency in COBOL programming; experience with C language is a plus.

Familiarity with source code management tools (e.g., GIT).

Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing tools such as UFT, Postman, and Selenium.

Strong understanding of software design patterns, data modeling, and system architecture.

Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Demonstrated leadership and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Prior experience in the financial industry is highly desirable.
